Pocket Wifi use in Japan

I saw a few types of pocket Wifi in Challenger Store, using GSM to broadcast signal.

I am going Japan soon and I understand they use CDMA instead.

If I use the pocket wifi bought from Singapore and using Japan SIM card, does this combi work?

Please advise me.

check the supported bandwidth in Japan from the SIM provider against the product specification to ensure it is supported
