Rx550 said to be low profile, single slot....

Performance close to gtx750....

Finally decent GPU for 1u server that don't cost a bomb.

Depending on how cut down the RX 550 is, I suspect it may underperform the GTX 750. Probably a good card for HTPC with media playback as its key strength.

I underside the 580 draws more power than the, 1060... But in terms of electricity bill... Is it very significant difference?

NVENC encoding quality better and less blocky than VCE. Decoding wise are similar.

NVENC SDK is also better maintained and adopted.

The AMF on the other hand has potential, but the initial direction it was headed was "hurr, let's throw everything to GPUopen" and expect devs to use the semi-broken SDK.
Got a few individuals keep chasing the AMF maintainer at AMD, the guy that made the OBS AMF plugin a few others. But polaris UVD/VCE should be working well as expected at this point after 3 quarters.

VCE 4 and UVD 7 in vega will be something to look out for both in raven ridge iGPU and the desktop GPU form. Hopefully the initial AMF stability won't be stupidly unstable for 2 quarters and usable for the most at launch.

X264 doesn't brute force well on moi overclocked laptop chip (GT2 + 4C8T) inside a desktop :s34:.

But its HEVC encode efficiency is good and scales very well with frequency than previous CPUs though (delid costs up to 33 plates of chicken rice).

Not so fast. I was given a lame nda for locally -_-.

They did it to me just like how they did it back then on rx400 series.

And why would a GPU for a 1U server be needed? If it's for display (because the board lacks inboard graphics, then any low profile card will do)

Can see it working for HTPCs though.

Except that this time no no bkk trip? :s13:

Wondering how's the state of Wattman tab in 2017 and how well does Radeon chill (Radeon settings FRTC + HiAlgo chill) work in the area of visual impact. :o
