Gd afternoon, not sure nyp where or when is the roadshow. And budget maybe 2k below? Is read that asus 303 not bad but some said the hinges like easily broke leh....

Sent from OnePlus A0001 using GAGT

I strongly recommend you to consider poly's laptop. They have better and convenient warranty coverage for students.
Here is the schedule for NYP's roadshow for ASUS.
I personally prefer UX303-G6P as it has a discrete graphic card and in case you turned to other games if you gets bored of LOL, the graphic card is there to support your future needs.

Within reasonable grounds. I don't believe school techs are like that and I have encountered school purchased laptops having trouble with wifi connectivity as well.

Best buy from school to save unnecessary warranty issue etc.
School now a days scare of students for them students is customers to them.

If you buy from outside and one day get mess up like softwares go haywire school tech will take opportunity to blame your laptop fault as it not purchase from school.

So summary best get from school at least the tech cannot take chances to blame your laptop.

Good morning!

It has to depend on the course she is taking and also what softwares are needed for her course.

By softwares - some are very resource intensive - with a stated min amount of ram , processor capability needed to run stuffs efficiently and smoothly.

So for instance revit is a bim architecture software that's hard on processor and graphic. Therefore an i3 with Intel graphics will probably crash on operation.

As a student myself, the laptop itself is an essential tool for me to do my work. So I would need a laptop that's reliable cause i cannot afford the downtime should my laptop fail. So having a warranty that's onsite would be good. All this adds to cost though. But in the grand scheme of things it is worth it :)
