What brand/model tyres are you using?

You might need to change your tyres as it is quite dangerous to hydroplane.

cant really tell what happened in the video.

At about 8 seconds in, taxi and my car hit some water and skidded to the left lane.

Using Michelin Primacy HP. Still got quite a bit of tread though. I hope it's just understeering, and not hydroplaning.

oic.
when face with such situation, just release accelerator (but don't jam brake and do counter steering) and let it "glide" thru the water.

Remind me not to be next to you ..
I don't want to damage my car when you lose control..
As suggested, it's time to change tires and to Slow Down bro..

Drag caused by the water, maybe? It's not like I'm applying full throttle; I just maintained it at the same amount as before hitting the huge puddle.

Surprisingly the ESP light didn't come on. Seems like the wet grip on the Michelins isn't as fantastic as I thought.

You should try Michelin Pilot Sport series. I used to use PS3 on my previous VIOS and it cuts through puddles pretty well. I only encounter pull back while going through puddles when all my tires are more than 2.5 yo. That is also the time for me to change tires.

Current ride comes with Bridgestone ER33 which I'm still trying to get used to. I will changed tp PS4 when the treads are running low and when I have budget to do so, probably after 1.5 years.
