My POP leave is from 9-13 Dec but I've booked a trip from 12-15 (till Sunday morning back in SG). Would that be alright as long as I report to my new unit on Monday?

Don't need to ask your commander because you won't have any (you are in-between units / training institution).

The short answer is yes. You may go for overseas trip during your blocked leave (including the weekends). Ask your parents, this was covered during the CO briefing on your enlistment day.

As long as it is within the range where you don't have to inform mindef for overseas trip then you're fine. Most if not all units report to camp on Monday morning and at the very least Sunday evening so if you're back by then no problem
If you are very worried go call cmpb

Loverboi88, there is no standard answer to this. By now, you should already know what is regimental life.

No exception unless for dire reasons. If you mono intake, still can ask unit commanders. If not, who to ask if you also dunno where you're posted.

9-13 is a weekday. You might not know if the unit you posted to require you to report on the 14th. You assume 14-15 weekend no need to report or book in. Better check, don't assume.

You from 6 SIR issit?

After you finish BMT, you will go on one week's block leave ("POP leave). Sometime Thursday or Friday (the official day is Friday) you will receive a notification for you to check your posting. While you are on it, it will also tell you when you need to report for your new unit / training institute. It will either be Sunday night or Monday morning. Saturday should be quite safe.

If you are willing to be held personally responsible for any “confirmation” you are giving here, then please state your real name and mobile number.

If not you are unaccountable for the confrontation you provide

Think you are missing the point.

There’s a difference between quite safe and certainty

OP is old enough to make his own call

Giving him info can also mean directing him to a channel he can get the info he can hold people accountable for.

All the info would have been given during BMT if not it is the failure of his commanders to not notify him of the means on who to contact

Either way OP chose to ask on a forum be it for whatever reason hence we gave him advice on our end
If he wanted official advice he would not be here

So if he ends up doing something that he shouldn’t be doing because his commanders didn’t tell him and the commanders did indeed fail.

Do you think he can get away scot-free and not err on the side of caution and open his mouth to ask?

OP might have chosen to ask in this forum for whatever reason. You can give your advice, but is the advice of telling him he should get the info from his commanders a wrong advice to give?

He may be like a lot of other ignorant people who thinks that a forum where people are not held accountable for whatever they say, can provide a confirmation for something he’s asking.

And you are assuming he has not already asked on the proper channel while using the forum as a way to double confirm his fears however irrational
