There are 2 different stores (1 with pig logo 合记 & 1 with Phoenix logo (old shop), which one is the original? Seem like both shop is very closed by next to each other. Seem like Pig logo is more famous.

Can advise how to go to Chinatown being first time there. Just wanted to get the pork floss and some local tibits.

are you going there ONLY to buy the tidbits?
if yes then you're better off buying them at platinum or mbk
the price difference doesn't justify the trip to chinatown...

Go to chinatown from whr first? Can take train then boat there or cab there or bus there.

They offers sample for you to try,see which is better than go buy. Both shd be ard same standards,just dun get the thai brands with thai words or those no brand one.

Just went there two week to buy the the pork floss. We went to the pig logo 合记. Must buy the pig floss with egg rolls and the pork floss in stick.

Very Nice and i regret not buying more.

Thanks for the reply. Plan to take bts - taxi boat, then find my way there to walk around chinatown and at the same time buy pork floss since I've never been to Chinatown (this is my 2nd trip).

If I'm going from Siam area, is taking taxi there better or via taxi boat easier & faster? Is it easy to find my way into Chinatown from the pier?

N5 Ratchawongse, like Beno mentioned, is the pier for Chinatown or Yaowarad. It is quite a long walk still, so take a taxi, unless you want to visit Sampeng Lane as well.

Anyway, the shop is opened from 7am - 11pm. Will take a cab after Pratunam shopping.

i usually just buy from whichever shop i pass by
no difference in taste to me
don't really know the story behind though...
do try the samples as there are some very nice snacks e.g. the crispy pork slices (a bit like bak kua, but a lot thinner and crispier) and pork floss in small pieces (better than the 'cigar roll' imho)
