IS price dropping across board, last i remember, such product easily cost close to 300 bucks


Anyone with comments on the brand, reliability etc ?

I think this may not happen for sometime. I think one of the cost for BD drives is that it typically have 2x laser, one for DVD and other for Bluray. Unless there is a breakthrough, this may take quite sometime. Not to mention DVD drives are still in the market.

It's a long wait...

BD-writer have been in the mass consumer market like since 2008/2009 and they are still price at $1XX (though u can buy from amazon for less than $100 + shipping) in 2013....

CD and DVD have all been through the phase. I am starting to see BD price drop like previous trends. Soon it will be less than 100, then 50-60SGD per BD-RW drive.

yup. prices are quite low now. I bought mine earlier last month from sim lim. the brand is NEO Blu-ray drive. bought is @ 159 from a shop at lv 5. cant remember the name. n bought the disc from the shop beside the escalator on level 3. cheap cheap ard $4+ for a 25GB BR-R.
