Hi folks, I'm thinking of buying a value for money portable bluetooth speaker, it's mainly for classical and pop music.

I've read a few articles on Creative Roar and it's pretty impressive for its price point.

Just like to know if anybody here has more experience with bluetooth speakers and the pitfalls of buying one.

TIA!

The bigger the main driver... the better the sound

Klipsch Groove, Bose Soundlink II (Now called Soundlink Color II?), and SB Roar I've tried before and found them to be good.

This looks like a good deal:

https://www.qoo10.sg/gmkt.inc/goods/goods.aspx?goodscode=546474396&jaehuid=2026058764

Oh wow, seller from the US, I'm happy with Klipsch having own the Pro-media before. This is a single driver system but it's big lol.

The other alternative is for me to get a sound bar that is bluetooth enabled. Chances are I'll be using this speaker at home and not bringing out to the beach :s13:

Did a search for BT speakers below $100 and surprisingly a lot of stuff turned up.

How's the likes of Anker A3143 and Tronsmart Mega? Both the Creative MUVO 2 and Tronsmart Mega supports dual pairing.

Man, I'm lost :s13:

Never state budget never state whether bringing out or not...

$99 non-portable BT just buy Edifier R1010BT... That's pretty much the biggest BT speaker you can get at this price point.

Yeah I did, mostly using at different parts of home so I thought that a BT speaker will be best.

Still prefer the likes of Creative Roar's quality. Unless I'm wrong, the sub $100 speakers doesn't sound as good?

Budget about $200 to $300? Of course if a $100 speaker can sound as good, why not? :D

Unless you have budget, opt to look into wireless home audio.
Meaning you can stream music from your phone to each BT speaker using the app.

This can be HIFI, BT speaker or even soundbar.
However such products are not for people on budget.

If on budget just get a decent BT speaker and carry it around.
I won't comment on Creative, they are good speakers.

But if you want a more lasting and reliable speaker get other brand.

That's a good point of view.

I'm going to be portable at home and a speaker that is portable will be the best e.g. work in study, meditate in bedroom. Soundbars and wireless home audio may not be that portable.

That's why I thought why not a BT speaker. When I did a search, a prodigious number turned up. So I figured just having a budget and needs wouldn't cut it.

A better option is to get hands on review in a forum. One thing that stood out especially from a search in amazon is particularly interesting.

I listed couple of speakers above $200, $100 and below $100. Some of the reviews on the middle range is surprisingly good. In fact, I found quite a few sub $100 that are very good too.

Most of the time you get what you pay for but I'm trying to find that sweet spot between price and quality.

I've heard those $20 china made speakers and most really just sound flat (that's what you get for $20). On the other hand, I've tested the USD$149.99 X-mini SUPA and it didn't impress me at all.

I personally haven't test the Creative Roar series for myself but most reviews are pretty good for it's price point. I don't need water proofing nor fancy technologies; just that sweet spot for about $200 to $300 or even $100 if it works.

Yea grab the klipsch or the bose mentioned above. Since your speakers won't be stationary.

My own pick,

Sony SRS-XB30

Bass is really good

JBL Charge 3

Just buy, pay and Amazon delivers? Warranty?

Never buy from Amazon before :s13:

Orders fufilled by Amazon is just buy, pay and Amazon delivers. Warranty is by Amazon.

If scared just buy two.

Then DIY yourself a cable which can connect both speakers as a stereo speaker with 3.5mm :D
