Portable HDD questions

Hi! All, looking to buy a portable HDD as my rMBP is running out of space. Would like to hear feedbacks and reviews of the portable HDD that you have or currently using. Going the portable HDD way because not comfortable with the idea of cloud storage.

Hi peeps ,

Me new in Mac. Was thinking any portable harddisk that mac can access the files ? I have a few old harddisk . Wondering can they be used but not sure wat and how to format them.

Plug in your external hard disk, and go to disk utility to format them as exFAT if u intend to access between windows and mac. if not partition to mac journaled
