Not that X is bad, but real world usage there is no difference between 8 and X, due to the similar internals.

Secondary camera having OIS isn't that big of a upgrade either as the main cam is the same.

FaceID works relatively well, but TouchID is still very very solid.

Screen is better on Plus compared to X, regardless what they say about OLED, the screen real estate is a big difference.

You'll save much money going for the 8, and with minimal depreciation, you can sell it next year and get iPhone X1 or whatever, which is likely going to be a cheaper entry price point.

After almost a month since iPhone X release is the additional (8/8+) 200-600 feels worth it?

I'm yet to owned 1 and will be re-contracting next weeks need some feedback.

My choices is between iPhone 8 (wait for next gen iPhone X) and iPhone X coming from Samsung S7 edge and definitely not considering 8+ or the new samsung model because of the size issue and heavily invested in apple environment.

Never play the waiting game. As a long time Apple user, waiting for the next generation device hoping for a drastic change is less likely to happen.

If you like the X design and functionality then I suggest you just get it now instead of waiting. But be sure that you know the pros and cons of the X compared to the tried and tested 8/8+.

The best thing to do is to head down to the store and use those two devices. See which one feels more comfortable for you.

Personally I feel the X is somewhat a Beta device. I could have sticked with my 7 for another year before considering an improved X but the 8 is a familiar, functional and a much more complete device than the 7 in every way. So I upgraded and never regretted one bit.

I couldn’t agree more. Stats and specs are just noise. Real world usage is all that matters.

Salute to you bro for resisting the change. I agree on all points you've mentioned. Well I was in your shoes, went 2nd day to collect the X and disappointed when I compre my 8plus to the X using their display models.

Yes cannot justify the +900 more based on everything you've mentioned. Thats why procastinated for 4-5 days. Resisted every bit of it. haha. Deym.

I'm just a sucker for change and new technology. Whatever apple has to offer maybe. especially using plus models for 3 years and now another more if was for the 8 plus. This was the turning point for me.

Well whatever rocks your boat, but at end of the day its still the phone maybe majority eho upgraded wants just the latest apple and probably be changing to Plus model next year. For me depends on the price next year, if ut crosses the 2k i have to pass. Probably the X plus LCD will be fine.

just little update on this. I end-up buying iPhone x at apple store. I intent to buy the iphone 8 then decide to swing back buying x last minute... it seems if you're not satisfied with the apple product you have few days to return it back. After playing around tonight seems satisfied except the casing thingy I really don't like casing but end up buying cheap 10 bucks worth of case thingy + tempered glass + back screen protector plastic. I have quick check on some forums says the bottom and side easy to get scratch

Some things which I thought Apple could have done:
1) additional iCloud storage (as what Google did for Pixel line)
2) the iPhone X has wireless charging, fast charging etc but the included accessories don't support; there's so much forum talk on using 3rd party USB chargers, wireless chargers etc.

For a premium phone at nearly $2k, maybe Apple should have demonstrated more of its capabilities right out of the box.

It's still working actually, minus the home button so I am using the virtual one. Another problem is I didn't update the iOS and stopped at iOS7. So as years passed, some app doesn't support anymore.

no wor, e OLED screen is seriously too bright. when I'm indoors e max brightness I can tahan is 50%

There is another wireless earphone sold by Apple. The BeatsX. How does it stack up with AirPods? BeatsX is cheaper though.
