Hi, I'm new to the android world, and I'm playing around with appearances. I'm using Desktop Visualizer for my menu screens, and I'm wondering where you guys get all the icons? Are there icon packs to download, and if so, please refer me.. Or do you manually download every single photo/icon you use? Also, how do you stretch the icons to fill up the entire space of set dimensions (eg. 2x2 or 3x3 or 1x3).

I'm not addressing to any one in particular, so input from any one who knows how to use Desktop Visualizer is greatly appreciated!

(btw, just to give an illustration of what I mean when I say stretched icons, refer to an old post, #138 by zonix)

The icons were never stretched. He used a custom home launcher, and set the grid size to 4x3. Thus, icons can be placed elsewhere. Two home launchers I recommend are ADW.launcher and Launcherpro. (You can try their paid variants, adw.Ex and Launcherpro plus)
Regina launcher is a cool 3d launcher, and icons can be placed freely, without any grid.

Icon packs can be found anywhere on the Internet. These can be applied manually through these custom launchers. This is a great place to get some: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824656
Adw also accepts themes, with the option of using icon packs from the market.

hey lolnoob, thanks a lot. After some experimentation, I've finally understood (a bit) of how things work. And that's a great link you gave, there sure is tons of stuff to download there!

for the record, I prefer Launcherpro to ADW launcher!

Hi, is there any tutorial for "born-again" android users like me?
I had my 1st Android G1 phone and left a bad taste in my mouth.
The prodigal son has returned with a Nexus S over the weekend.

Need help on designing homescreens :(
