Quite recently did a overhaul to my setup and same as everyone, there's bunch of headache that comes with it...
Initially wanted to get a full real customised workstation setup, the cost is really high after factor in all the required accessory. Not a good choice.
Then was browsing Ikea site and found some ideas... currently as the picture show, the table was my existing table that I'm using.. is already 10 years.. still very strong.
So my plan was to raise the iMac and also raise my new speakers. The reason is that most of the wires that runs from them will be end up to a power point or to a external drive or to a router. This units can be placed inside the rack.
So I found two racks from Ikea which was really suitable... you need to self-assembled. The dimension was really fit for a iMac and additional speakers. I like the height of the side rack as it is exactly at my ear level.
Also I placed a few power extension bar behind and all the wires flows smoothly down to it.
So with the extra space on the rack, there's a lot of additional items you can use to place inside. e.g.. external drive, NAS, usb hub, router.. and so no. Simple but function use.
