my ear 2 cents

i tried rsa series like hornet n predator b4 getting pico.

the reason i head for pico was i prefer the sq over rsa. pico has more clarity and feel like something missing when i use rsa. cant explain also. i am a basshead but i feel after trying Rsa predator ,the bass is kidda overwhelmed

D10/12 can tweak the sound to your liking so really cant compare cause diff configuration = diff sq. u can tweak untill the sound you like so its quite a good choice.

I own the hornet, its warm with tight bass =0

My exercise gear. The M6 although in-ear aren't very deep insertion and don't isolate very well. Which is perfect since I don't run in the gym and need to be aware of my surroundings. Plus its very bright sounding which helps get me pumped out. And they look amazing as well.

Clip+ 4GB @ $60
Meelec M6 Clear @ $40

Previously using my Motorola Milestone as source. I didn't really belive in the "hear the difference" thing and I thought any source was OK. When i switched to the Clip+, it was instant difference. Soundstage was wider and instrument placement was a bit better. The bass became tighter and slightly stronger. The difference is noticable. Investing in a DAP is good :).

I'm looking at getting the UE TripleFi's when they go on sale on Amazon again. I love how wearing the earphones over-the-ear eliminate almost all the cable noise. it will be my first big-budget earphone. My previous "expensive" earphones were some Sony's EX series which were all bass and this Pioneer in-ear earphone which weren't too good.

Some headphones require more power and your portable media player might not have the power to drive the headphone to its full potential, this results in substandard sound quality. In a nutshell, the amp is there to improve sound quality =)

hmm if u want. Its optional, i am going to be honest here. No matter how good the amp is it can only improve the sound quality at most 20%. U also will have to match the amp yourself. different amp have different improvement.

The hornet which i used to have improves sound by 15 - 20%, it cost $630 at jaben . So u need to see which amp is cheap and good

Actually the amp is there to provide the power needed for the headphones with high impedance to shine as most DAP do not have enough power to drive the high impedance headphone

My latest portable rig - iPhone 3GS + VentureCraft Go-Dap + 1964-Q

Will most likely swap the Go-Dap for Fiio E7 (portable) + E9 (home use). Go-Dap seems more suitable for headphones than IEMs.
