Power Issue

I tried to swap a andyson F500M to run a Asus Z68 board with I5 2500.

Had an issue. CPU fan apparently not running. When power up, it die off in a few secs before re powering on again.

Can anyone advise?

I tried to unplug and plug in to the cha fan pins and it was spinning. What does this means? Motherboard problem? Or power issue?

Test your PSU with a paper cliip and see if it works

Reset the RAMs

Re-connect all the cables from the Mb to PSU


boot with one stick and see if it goes away ( swap them )

I tested everything possible. Just not working. Very weird.

I removed everything and only connect the PSU ATX cables to the mobo and as well as CPU fan.

Even just alone, CPU fan not running. Tested to connect it to chassis fan connector and CPU fan is running.

Even as such, I try with a proper run with OS hdd etc this time. CPU fan was running in connection to chassis connector and CPU "looks" like running, but I'm not seeing anything on my screen.

I think really no choice den got to bring down SLS tomorrow

For your info, each time I try to boot, it powers up and den down again in a split second. Thereafter, it will try to power on again and stay there but nothing is running

Actually why do u think its PSU spoil? I had a gigabyte motherboard tht keeps repowering itself non-stop. I think the problem lies in ur motherboard.

More likely motherboard is short - circuited.

have brought the entire CPU to SLS yesterday. Confirm it's the motherboard that seems to be partial fried. Sending in to RMA.

where can I go at SLS to diagnose the problem?? I suspect it's either PSU or motherboard...
