Battery life of a mobile is very important. Cannot blame the hardware (size of the battery & the efficiency of the Hardware)

Personally i think Samsung have tons of bell & horns for all sorts of apps BUT its SERIOUSLY lagging on software in terms of Saving battery.

How many of you people have come across motorola's smart actions. IT can automaticlly off data usage or turn on Airplane mode when the display is off + alot of other neat stuffs. (cool huh) (razr maxx)

Asus 's (smart saving) set % of brightness when using certain apps + automatically turn off mobile data when the screen is off. (asus fonepad)

I dont have many devices. Can you guys share more examples? I just bought a tab8.4 pro & is dismayed by its lack of power saving actions.

I really hope samsung can improve in this department. Extending battery life!

Best power saving idea is to competely switch off the device when not in use ;-p

I hope the samsung software engineers or script writers see this. SO many bloat APPS but the really needed POWER saving function is not there.

Would be really nice to add auto off data when screen is off or in standby mode.

You might be the only one who would want auto data off when screen is off. Like allanzzz said, you will not be able to receive whatsapp, emails etc.

Many other brands got this feature. I think i am not the only. Anyway its another feature better to have than not. Not many funtions on their powersaving mode. Got chance go try other brands test out see see then u will agree that samsung is behind in this mode. Not bashing this brand just hoping it get better.

Turning off the data connection when the screen is off is indeed present in the S5's Ultra Power Saving Mode. Besides that, you can always get a third party app like Juice Defender to do this.

Personally, I don't agree with having this "feature" turned on at all for a normal power-saving mode. I had an Asus device that did this before and it makes the device pointless. Can you imagine the average smartphone user who turns power-saving mode on, and then realizes after a while that he's not getting any notifications and doesn't know what went wrong because this is completely unexpected behaviour of a smart device? It's a very drastic power-saving measure that cripples the smartphone and it'll result in terrible customer satisfaction. That's why it's in the S5's ULTRA Power Saving Mode instead of the normal one.

My Note 3 has a better solution than turning off mobile data every time the screen turns off anyway - be more efficient at power consumption and have a bigger, removable battery that can be swapped out for a fully charged one so that the phone can continue to be used on the go.

U can choose or not it if they have the function.( So only S5 screen off data off). should have bought that. Thanks!

It always nice to use function than to replace battery.
Must share with you guys 8.4 pro dun have ultra saving mode & its battery is inbuild.

Thanks guys. Must really contact Samsung to ask for this feature.
