I have an old acer desktop I could give my little kids to play their favourite counterstrike games. Need advice on the possible upgrades that I could transform into their dedicated gaming machine as it used to be a work pc and gaming is rather slow.
E6750
2gb ram
GeForce 8400
Power supply FSP group inc 250W

The minimum requirements for cs is E6600, 2GB ram, 256MB with direct 9 pixel shader 3. I need recommendations of a most cost effective upgrade. The monitor is 1680x1080 native. Budget $100 for both if possible but do feel free to recommend beyond so as to ensure they have a great gaming experience. Tia guys.

just barely match minimum requirement not good for this genre of games right .... the lag will mean slower response and lose out , enemy shoot first

What would a good spec for fps game? Based on game review cs recommended specs is E5700 dual core and 2GB ram with GT 630. But there is only GT730 selling these days so is it worth to upgrade? If not could you recommend a full built specs? Does a skylake G4400 outperforms E6750. Tia. Trying to keep budget low as it is for kids to play.

Your system is currently bottle-necked by RAM. An additional 2GB stick of DDR2 is about $10.

If your motherboard can support Wolfdale, E8400 is about $15.

GPU - 560Ti for about $75 to 80.

PSU you should be able to get below $50.

I just sold a Q9450 + 3 X 2GB of DDR2 for $60 yesterday (clearing spare parts). That would have been a nice upgrade for your rig.

Normal working adults probably won't have the reaction timing of hyenas. :s13:
