Powerbank problem: Does not charge laptop

I have a XTAR PB2S powerbank. Link below:

When I plug this in to my Lenovo x260 laptop it does not charge.

The connection is through a USB-C to DC adaptor.

The adapter works fine when paired with a AC laptop charger - so it is not an adapter problem.

This powerbank can output 9V, 2A max, and it reaches this output when plugged in to my phone.

I have two 21700 Vapcell 4800mAH batteries inside.

Any advice on how to get this powerbank to work would be appreciated.

if not mistaken, lenovo charger need 20v. the powerbank spec sheet lists 12v max but still not enough.

also, better to post in notebook clinic.

Yes the bundled charger says 20V.

Thanks for the advice. Somehow I did not think to check.

start by checking power supply for your laptop

for lenovo models, can search via psref website

from the spec sheet, this model requires 45w

can look for usb-pd powerbanks with at least 45w, should then work

This logic of going just by wattage only works for USB-C PD laptops.

In this case, since an X260 is not USB-C PD enabled, it must have a 19-20V input or it will not charge at all.

19-20V is generally 65W and up in USB-C PD speak.

That is the problem when you try to convert USB-C to barrel ports. The voltage must match before you do such things, otherwise if the adapter is cheap it could even cause damage when the laptop is expecting 20V and the adapter delivers 12 or 15.

the problem is he didnt buy pd power bank. Like the $50 xiaomi powerbank pro

Yeap, charging electronic devices requires the output of the adapter to meet the rated voltage input spec stated.
