Saw it at the Mi Fan SG Facebook group too..

Shocked to see this, maybe they're reconstructing their operations here or thr worst result is they leaving the SG market?!

According to one of the community members on his FB profile page, he commented that 2 of the staff of Mi Singapore (whom are close to the local Mi Fans) are leaving which I guess could be an issue for local Mi Singapore operations?

I suppose so. Had a chance to interact with them during Redmi Note 3 experiential event and Mi Home opening last year and they seem very committed to their jobs and if it is indeed both of them leaving, Mi Singapore is indeed at a lost now.

They're like the soul of Mi Singapore, like they will be participative among their customers and interact to know more about us. :(

I got to interact with Cheryl and Joyce for a short while when I went to their office and collect my prizes last time and they were very friendly!

Sad to hear they're leaving too, really is a lost to Mi Singapore but maybe there could be some 'issues' at the back that we don't know? :s11:

They mark up their price until so high most of the hardcore xiaomi supporters like me no choice have to go for export set. Ironically my first 2 local xm didn't last more than 8 mths whereas my export set is still serving me well

My Redmi 1S bought in July 2014 is still working fine till now, only battery slightly bloated but still can charge
The Redmi 2 that I won in a contest by them is also still working fine, except that the camera a little spoilt liao :o

I feel their prices are still generally okay, only their Mi 5 is a little out of expectation :o
Hope they price their Mi 6 more to what is expected~

My redmi 1S also bought in 2014 was ok on 2G, but the slot 1 doesnt works well on 3G, no internet connection. So its useless now.

My Redmi 1, Redmi Note 3G still working well (hardware) at this point, just ruined by awful software support with Redmi 1 receiving just 1 very buggy MIUI 6 update in late-2015 and having to revert my Redmi Note 3G back to MIUI 7 because MIUI 8 update broke any form of mobile network connection and they gave up on software support of the model ever since. MediaTek equipped Xiaomi phones have terrible software support, avoid at all costs really.

I also have a set of Redmi Note 4G which I still use as my secondary phone, still receiving updates at this point albeit on ancient 4.4.4 KitKat build. Bought my current Mi 5 at Lazada 12.12 sale last year for $399 and found it good for this price, original RRP of $619 was indeed a tough pill to swallow. I admit, local Mi SG operations up to this point is more misses than hits, especially when it comes to availability of new models and prices. Despite that, I wouldn't mind continuing to support Xiaomi phones in future.

Xiaomi singapore needs to also make available the latest and greatest phones here on sg at reasonable prices in order to grow the brand. I mean why bother to open their own stores if they are slow to be loved the latest models? And when they do come, it's at higher prices?

Yeah I don't mind supporting them too, but seeing their situation of now not as bright as when they just entered in 2014 makes me go hais.. :(

I will still recommend Xiaomi products to people too, because their high cost-to-performance ratio is really attractive and is good for many other people to know more about other great Xiaomi products such as their robot vacuum for example~
