Pre-CNY in Taiwan

Is there anything special going on in Taiwan the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year. Planning to go there to do some pre-cny shopping and tour, Googled but can't seem to find anything out of the norm...

Planning to go there first/second week of February 2015.
