I will probably install my new pc this weekend (1st timer), just need to ask a few noob question

Question 1.
i would be using CM Scout 2, this casing enable to install >7 fans, the Mobo i be using is Asus H97 Pro gamer, done some check and realize it got only ;

1 x CPU Fan connector(s) (1 x 4 -pin)
1 x CPU OPT Fan connector(s) (1 x 4 -pin)
3 x Chassis Fan connector(s) (3 x 4 -pin)

So mean to say the max i can only install 5 nos. of fan (including cpu fan)?

Question 2.
I realise the front casing LED fan has 2 wire, one 3 pin and the other guess is for to on/off the led fan light. Do all LED fans comes with this 2 wire? E.g Cosair AF120? All fan has to be connected to motherboard?

Question 3.

Any advise on the air flow direction, meaning for the top fans and the bottom fan, it should be sucking in air or blowing out air?

you can always buy the fan splitter which will split up one of the fan port into multiple fan ports.

normally PSU will be good to face the fan down, so be it pulling or pushing doesnt really affects the other components.

so psu face it down will be good bah.

next your top part try make it one direction flow, dont put two direction.

since your rear fan is pulling the air out of the case, you probably might consider pulling the air out of the case for the top part too.

bottom of the fan push air into the case.

i maybe wrong because im like you also noob diy lol.

btw make sure that the cpu fan port is only meant for your cpu cooler. if not you wont be able to adjust accordingly via your bios.

CPU fans are the 4-pins that allow your fan to work in PWM mode, you have a main connector plus an optional connector if your fan is a dual radiator.

You can buy a fan splitter, and also some good casings have inbuilt fan splitter as well.

thanks for the info.

understand that for 3 pin-s without fan speed control, for 4 pin - fan speed control

But i just want to know more about the fan connection.

1. Normally casing fan comes with 1 3/4 pin connector right?

2. For LED fans, it come with and extra cable to control the LED on/off switch?

3. I read that some fan have another cable to connect to PSU as well..

So normally these casing fan comes in how many cable? Pretty confuse now..lol

I don't think you need so many fans.

However, if you are going to install 5 or 6 case fans, I suggest you use a fan controller.

I'm using the Zalman ZM-MFC1 which allows individual fan speed settings for up to 6 fans, though I only connected 2 fans to it.

Top rear fan should be exhaust. Top front fan is redundant.

Hot air rises, cold air sinks. So front and bottom intake and top+back exhaust?

sorry, type too fast, i mean all CM fans has this or only selected model? Jet Flo ?

Jet Flo only states "4-Pin (PWM)", so I think the answer is no, not all CM led fans have, likely only the stock fans. Which does mean the light switch is more or less for those who don't intend to switch the fans out. Think if you want to get better fans, just go ahead and ignore the light switch.
