They look at 2 things:

1) Previous grades
2) Personality

This may sound cliched but they're looking for someone who demonstrates appreciation for the benefits of the scholarship;i.e will treasure the opportunities given if the scholarship is awarded and have real passion for the subject itself; i.e life-long career.

I am curious how many scholarships is given each year.

Let's say LKY-STEPS scholarship and University Engineering Scholarship, how many scholarship is given out??

Applied both but yet to get an interview.
