If you ran Prime95 on your computer successfully for 24 hours but 1 worker had already stopped well in the midst of the test due to a rounding error i.e. only 3 workers working, would you consider your computer to be stable?

i tried to increase my Vcore (it is now currently at 1.425V) and i am reluctant to push it any higher because i am not prepared to burn out my CPU within a year or two. I am aware however that similar forum threads on the internet have had users coming in to feedback that the issue of 1 worker stopped with 3 still working points to Vcore being insufficient.

if it survives 2 hours of prime, it should be okay...

prime is unrealistic enough as it puts a cpu beyond its normal day to day use...

ex. i can post and boot at 5Ghz (2600k), it can run prime for about 15 minutes -- then i get worried about temps... with this oc i can go through a benchmarks (ex. cinebench)...

my 24/7 is still 4.6Ghz @ 1.40v though... i think i do not have a very good chip... at stock voltage i can go to 4.2Ghz only..

the timing is subjective i suppose as some guides put 24 hrs as the duration to cover.

One thing i am sure is, Prime95 or rather stress testing is a very good way to uncover possible issues with your computer's stability. I used to encounter occasional Event 41 Kernel-Power and sometimes kernel panic 0x124.

After stress testing for 17 hours, they are gone. I would have gone for gold but my mum told me my block was going to have a power stoppage so contractors could service the power distribution board so i had to cut it short.

Anyway, my friend told me that Prime95 is a old software. Use IntelBurnTest.

Have this problem with my i5-3570k too. 3 workers still working and 1 has stopped.
