Hello all,
I am currently using Canon PIXMA MP258 connected to Asus RT-N56U (scan/print server) and is currently serving the house users with scanning and printing function wirelessly.
This printer has been performing well for the last 4-5 years and helped us break in cost even with more than 15,000 paper printing over the years and many scanning. Adding the cost savings, we also purchased 3rd-party ink refills and manually inject ink whenever the ink is running low.
I am looking for a replacement just in case this printer/scanner fails.
Just wondering is it good to get a home-based printer with ADF function?
I'm asking this ADF question is partially because previously at my work place we had two HP Multifunctions that always had ADF issues (black line, faulty, jams, etc). The HP technicians had to come down to rectify them all the time. The downtime of not having printer at home is quite like the same issue at workplace. The trouble is calling HP support since they are very hard to call through, and to make it tougher to handle the calls were routed to helpdesk team in india which made the voice clarity really poor and hard to speak with them. I will never buy HP consumer products other than business desktops and servers.
Canon is my preferred brand ultimately. However, Epson has recently launched printers with bottle refills attached to the printer, I'm not sure if I should go for it since they are proprietary supported refills and the inherent risk of voiding warranty will be greatly reduced since the inkjet has the support now.
