This model uses the same panel as Acer VG271UP? Seems like the specs are exactly the same

Anybody has bought it can give a review? Is there any problem with ghosting?

Apparently on the acer model you cannot enable overdrive while freesync is on. Any such problem for the prism model?

I read the given search results. Not helpful on TS's question.

As maybe no-one ever own both models, and Prism+ is limited to SG customers which resulted in no oversea media reviewed it against to other models.

So in short to TS: no-one can answer your question. It is about the luck if you choose from above to models. Unless somehow you want to buy both of them and then manage to return one of them. No one will give you a firm answer here.

i bought 1 during sales few months ago... 1st monitor issue is that the screen will keep on flickering every few seconds..

so i emailed their support team with proofs, and they ask me to go down to their warehouse to change to a new set.

for the new set, after using for 4 days, got some green lines come out on my screen (is monitor issue). emailed them, they say will get back to me in 48 hours, but now still havent reply.

with it's given specs, yes it's a bang for buck... but the quality itself.... you ownself decide.

also, i feel that the panel got ghosting issue... or maybe my eyes cmi hahaha

Flickering after a few seconds is a sign of bad or overblown capacitors.

On the F270i page, they put there anti flicker - does that mean that it uses DC dimming as compared to PWM? Or does it mean that their PWM is zai enough to still not be able to discern the flicker at lower brightness levels?

I doubt the price they give u Ips, Ips is one of the most ex and best qty

they are local brand (aftershock) , not China brand lei. why they wan to scam your for such thing. IPS got different grade la. you go search in shopee and qoo10 there are cheap IPS from China and Korea brand.

it the same as mobile phone la, Xiao mi vs Samsung. same part but lower grade = cheaper price.

BTW, lower grade just mean that the part failed certain QC. maybe a bit scratch, dented or got dead pixel lor

Not real ips panel

Are you guys able to elaborate further on this?

Based on my own understanding (I'm a noob in this subject), I am guessing that you guys mean that the F270i pro uses an AHVA/PLS panel compared to IPS (as the monitors don't look like TN panels and the specs don't suggest that it is a VA panel).

If that is true, based on what I've read, technically that is true that they're not real IPS, as the name "IPS" is a trademarked term for panels made by LG/Sharp. However, according to my knowledge, IPS and AHVA are quite similar and IPS is more commonly used as an umbrella term to refer to these group of panels (AHVA, IPS, PLS) which have the same adv/disadv to IPS panels. In that case, while the F270i might not actually be a true IPS panel, for most people, it does not matter as much since the IPS here is just a "name" and the differences between a real IPS and AHVA/PLS panel are small compared to VA or TN.

Maybe there are some differences between true IPS and IPS-like panels like colour accuracy, longevity, etc since they are made by different manufacturers but I am not informed enough about these.

Also, apart from the price, are there any telltale signs that led you guys to think that it might not be true IPS? Just here to learn.

Sure. Just wondering why others say it is not true IPS as though it matters
