Despite your multiple attempts to post, trongs will still buy one.

Most of the time, customers are unreasonable the moment its up on social media - only aim is to make them panic and to standby 24/7 with the keyboard.

The correct approach is to pressure in written communication first, works all the time for me. But being sinkies, surely got ppl just go social media for one side of the story thinking of blackmailing with an anonymous alias.
Is always a choice of buyer. Important is buyer know what they are buying and do some research before purchase.

Viewed the 65 inch OLED at their roadshow at Novena earlier today. Picture quality was unimpressive and screen was on the dim side.

They mentioned they were using a LG OLED panel, but given that the the panel wasn't bright, my guess is probably something similar to that used on the LG A1.

Pricing also not very enticing at $2600+

Check output format, PCM / bitstream and what the soundbar is capable of handling
Read your manuals...

@TUV2008 What did you buy? Most important question is whether can use the Viu Android TV app directly in the TV. Not talking about casting from phone. I know iFFALCON can but TCL cannot, both same company. PRISM+, I’m not sure even they give 3-month free Viu subscription.

i bought the Q55 Pro. Yes free 30 days Viu. I play Viu direct from the app in the TV

Is it set to passthrough? Maybe soundbar cannot decode because live TV is aac. Set format to PCM for 2.0 audio or if you choose the 3rd track on live TV can set to DD5. 1 for 5.1 audio.

But you are not connecting to hdmi? Arc is for hdmi connection, u r using optical out from TV no? Ur output device correctly set to optical or spdif?

Also, should have hdmi arc on your TV, think my bro also using same as u, and I recently gave him a sound bar I got for free and he use hdmi arc

Either learn the terms, get familiar with your gear and read the manuals or get a soundbar with HDMI and ARC/ eARC..
Since customer service can't help you - you're not likely to get the solution without you doing some work yourself with the settings.
Optical is Not analogue.

Optical is digital connection, if is analog then won't have compatibility issue. But your soundbar needs to decode the digital format to analog to play the audio.

So in that sense, the format passed through needs to be a format your soundbar can decode.

Only 2 likely issues if devices and connection are fine, your sound output device not set to optical or spdif, or your format not supported by the soundbar.

PCM and DD are pretty much universal so should work if set to them.

Thanks. Not 3-month free? Maybe I see incorrectly.

On your TV and soundbar issue. If you have already plugged in your S/PDIF cable to the TV, look at the other end without plugging into the soundbar, got red light? If no, make sure the TV setting sound output is set to digital optical out. Check for red light again. If no light, change to a new digital optical cable and repeat the steps. If still no red light means TV S/PDIF port got problem, call PRISM.

However, if the above steps got red light and you plug into your soundbar and no sound, check TV settings again and check if you select the correct input setting on your soundbar. No sound? If you have other input sources for your soundbar, try it. If got sound from other input sources, you have to test your soundbar with another S/PDIF out electronic device like computer or Hi-Fi system. If got sound, call PRISM.

HDMI? Don’t know. Either incompatible cable or device.

BTW, Samsung soundbar what model? Digital optical connection quite plug-and-play one.

my sound bar is HW-N300.

Yes, I can see red light. I also thought it should be plug and play and still can't figer out why no sound.

I just try to use a music player connects to the sound bar via a normal cable and it works.

I don't have other devices at home to test S/PDIF.... mine gear at home are all old schools... :ROFLMAO:
