For those concerned with the lack of audio out ports on their monitor, you can actually use a hdmi audio extractor. My audio extractor has 3.5mm audio out as well as optical out.

So plug my pc and ps4 using a hdmi switch with audio extractor. Plug the 3.5mm from speaker to the extractor and thing works flawlessly.

I bought the switch for less than $20 from lazada. Qoo should have too.

I bought something like this

Think price reverted to $20. I bought mine for $16 a month ago. Package includes hdmi cable, usb cable, rca to stereo cable and wireless remote with battery.

I bought the switch since I need to plug multiple hdmi devices to my monitor.

How's the Prism+ W270 working out for you guys?

In the market for a 27" as well with 1440p, and seems like this suits my requirement! Dell U27 is a whooping $700!

Won't be gaming or anything, just web surfing and streaming..

Any reviews so far?

Got mine yesterday. As of now spotted 3 dead pixels.

The screen is really bright for me even at 0 brightness, so I'm using a screen dimmer app.

It was a bit yellowish but after calibrating it looks good.

If you've more to spend, recommend getting a better brand monitor, otherwise W270 is good too.

Just received my w270 yesterday, set it up in and saw that screens have lines on them.

probably considered as necro-ing this thread, but just wanna add my two cents for the monitor.

read the reviews here, but thought that the price was really quite bang-for-buck compared to other brand-name 27" monitors out there, and I took a plunge.

so my take:

1. affordable 27" with QHD
2. acceptable lag rates for gaming
3. acceptable refresh rate (60 Hz) for RPGs (144 Hz would be better for FPS, but I can live with that)
4. design is minimalistic and clean
5. support local companies and entrepreneurs lah

no dead/dark/bright pixels so far, which is good

imo, a better buy than cheaper IPS brandname models which usually don't offer QHD for less than SGD400.

My review:

- Color is good, very bright panel. Still slightly inferior to an proper IPS panel

- Refresh rate a little slow as compared to my previous TN panel which had 2ms refresh rate. Still manageable

- Magnetic shielding of the panel can be improved. When switching on/off other electrical appliances, it causes interference on the screen. more so when using the display port as compared to the HDMI

-Monitor stand is very slightly wobbly. Would be much better if they provided a firm stand the can rotate 180 degrees (like Dell)

- First panel had uneven brightness. They swapped to a new panel which was better, but had two dead pixels. Could live with the dead pixels. Good customer service

Overall, I think it's a decent panel for the very competitive pricing. Quality control can be improved as compared to the mainstream brands like Dell, LG, and BenQ etc.

Hopefully, better monitors will come out from Prism in the future. Suggest to use proper IPS instead of Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle (AHVA) panels in the future.

how proper can an ips be? ahva is another implementation of the ips technology. Its done by the AUO company.

its like you are saying, you bought a samsung phone with an exynos chip but wished it had an apple chip instead.

i don't mean to side with the product, just that nitpicking of the technology used is more of a rant than a review.

I'm not an expert on IPS or AHVA technology. So my review is purely based on my personal experience with monitors, both in past and present.

I find that the AHVA screen on Prism+ W270 appears slightly inferior to my other IPS monitors. It's not an objective comparison, just my personal thoughts, take it for what you will.

any of you guys tried overclocking it yet? fps you get without frame skipping?
