I have the same issue. After my laptop gone into save mode or sleep mode. Upon I login in my laptop, the x340 pro will not turn on or show any image. It will only turn on after I switch off/on again. Should be same issue as yours. Tried to change the HDMI cables to other working cable but not successful.
plus just realized that upon plug in the hdmi to laptop, all my sounds are gone.
