Connect everything and then restart the laptop?

If still cannot then use display settings to see if can detect the monitor.

I heard many problems with this monitor detecting signals.

Try to connect and restart your laptop. Or change cables.

Last month, when I was hunting for a 49-inch monitor, I was looking at Samsung, LG, Asus, and Philips. Never once would I consider a Prism X490. I heard a few brothers was commenting that Prism delete bad comments on their facebook. Where got products got excellent review all the time. There are always good and bad reviews, but good reviews more than bad, is accepteable. Maybe Prism keep blasting all the social media on how good they are, do you believe them, erm...that is why you bought from them.

Asked Prism to exchange to a new monitor, maybe you got a lemons. Do it before the 7 days one to one exchange. Singapore got lemon law. That is why never buy from Prism, always tai-chi until cannot exchange. For HDMI cable, doesn't Prism provide one free?

Why don't you borrow a another window laptop from your friend and test it? Maybe your laptop HDMI connector is faulty. There is a possiblity.

You can easily verify if whether the laptop HDMI connector is faulty by connecting it to your TV.

i kept asking them to call me but they always email me asking me to send videos of the connection process bla, bla,bla....then asked me for monitor serial no.
I told them they have my order # and they can always check at their backend for the S/N
Then they said what type of hdmi and the version ...wtf....
btw, HDMI is NOT included in the x490; only dp cable.

they just refused to call me.

My frend bought the x490 also had same problems with his MBP and after many reboots it was ok. At least, the Prism support called him. Maybe bcos he is AMDK

My MBP is now ok suddenly after many reboots.

Windows laptop is still getting Out of Range
This laptop has no hdmi as it is those slim ones. HDMI must go via a USB-C hub. I replaced the hub with a new one also got same problem. My MBP also no direct HDMI connection. Must use a USB-C hub with HDMI

Reply to their emails several times and even sent them videos but they keep asking me to send more videos. Why cant they just call?

Just help you tested on my X490 connected via USB-C to HDMI cable:

  • No issues with my MBP, plug and play
  • When connected with my Huawei Matebook X laptop it was abit iffy, at first, I got the same error as you "Out of range". But after fiddling around with the resolutions in display settings, it is now displaying fine on my X490 at the full 3840x1080 resolution.

You might want to try direct connection instead with a USB-C to HDMI cable.

What's your laptop model?
You need to make sure your USB C port supports alt mode

Coz they don't wanna be verbally abused by you lol...seriously it is not hard to give them the monitor serial number but asking you to provide such info is already so hard who dares to call you.

You should leave a very bad feedback on Google review. At least in Google review, they can't delete it! This is bad, try supporting local brand and this is the treatment you get. Taking advantage of Singaporean. The support staffs never contact you because they think they might catch Covid19 from talking to you over the phone. I feel bad for you, bro!

If you are not happy with the x490, just go down to their office and return it. They not willing to speak to you, go to their HQ and dump the monitor on the reception. Ask friend to go with you and take video to post on youtube. Demand your money back. Where got a monitor doesn't work right out of the box? This mean Prism have an inherent design flaw in the product. The monitor price maybe reasonable but still are not cheap.

This should be a happy purchase, not something you have to stress over it.
