Good day people! Need some of your kind advice. Am currently considering to take private diploma however, am considering which sch to take from. I heard that MDIS is not as recognised as PSB or Kaplan. Any suggestions? Also, as the modules are much lesser than local diploma, will it affect the employment in future? Or do we need to take advance diploma after getting the diploma (private) need your comments and feel free to give your honest opinion 😌 your help is greatly appreciated 😌

Which course are you interested?

What I heard from my cousin that MDIS and PSB are recognised, but not sure about Kaplan. Most of the company will look local qualification rather than private. Some company may accept private qualification. It doesn't affect your employment unless you are changing jobs.

You have to find out what module depend the course you are taking.

Am considering to take business management from PSB. I’m currently serving ns so there should be no issues in future employment I guess? Correct me if I’m wrong. Also, I’m holding different field certifications. I currently have Nitec in Fitness training and Higher Nitec in sports management. Would like to take private diploma as I would like to jump to different industry as I find that sports industry is not suitable for me.

Any suggestions?

You can try to apply Business school in local poly. If you can get in, you are lucky.

Touch wood. If really cannot get in poly, you can apply private school.
This is my suggestion. Good luck :)

I completed my Diploma with PSB, took DBA (marketing), now taking degree with them as well.

my feedback and what I see now if you are taking DBA with PSB as follows,

School facilities and location,
For DBA, student are studying in Marina Sq (walk from MRT is tiring, carpark charge at $2.20 per entry for Monday to Thurs after 5pm), with student card, you get some discount from some shop in MS and 10% off from most or all stall in food court.
School is clean, school environment is okie.. not stressful, available discussion room to book if u need for assignment.

Cannot commence on the lecturer, but they are generally nice for my experience. exam tips usually pretty good. Assignment submission mainly through moodle, plagiarism calculated using turnitin system.

DBA lecture hall, what I see from current DBA student, they attend almost all their lecture in Lecture theater due to the big group size. chair is uncomfortable! no actual table! those chair with table type... it a pain and we call it baby chair. Other than that everything else was nice! oh ya! Lecturer can see zhao geng easily becuz here isnt cover for the lady..

I can't give you the answer. But you call the psb hotline for more info.

I'm not related to business. I'm study engineering in SP.

You can simply like what egnaro911 had said. Jia you!!!

Don’t mind me asking, is it easy to get a job with private diploma currently? Appreciate your help in clearing my doubts 😄

Private Diplomas will never be recognised in the industry.

It's a stepping stone to get a private degree nia.

Don’t mind me replying! I graduated from Kaplan and it took me around 12 months to find a job (ok la I procrastinated). You could try SUSS if you don’t mind the 3/4 years course! And the bad thing about Kaplan was that they didn’t offer an internship which means no hands on experience before getting into the working world. Not sure if other course had interns I majored in mass comm.

I think so too... But with a private diploma better than without one.

Dont mind me asking if you have private diploma or local diploma? Is it still better to have a private diploma rather than having just higher nitec certificate?

TS can confirm get in CET dip since he got Higher Nitec cert.

CET dip in the local polytechnics don't usually look at GPA/result one...
