He is weird even when comes to stocks / investments. Anything SGX is no no .
So kiasi .
Life is much more simple than what he visualises.

you were comparing assets in different currencies in their local terms to come to a conclusion that a real estate investor was "losing" (by 3 times) even while they are "winning"

why are you comparing in different currencies?

Where did I ever say that? As it happens, I own shares in two individual SGX-listed stocks. Because that ownership is appropriate in my particular circumstances, and within the larger portfolio context.

No specific, individual investment vehicle is appropriate for everybody, or even for most people.

Which is the "correct" currency (especially in that comparison), and how would you like to view short-term currency fluctuations? "I don't know." It depends on your situation and viewpoint(s). Which is why I provided full and complete information to allow anybody to draw their own comparisons. Which you did.

Go ahead and pop some champagne corks if you want to celebrate ONE! WHOLE! MONTH! of tepid growth in resale condo valuations in Singapore. I don't recommend it, but hey, it's your champagne. :D

personally, I hope the singaporean property market softens, but that is not the issue here

I don't disagree that returns are relative and different people have different situations but the information you provided was in no way complete without considering the fx and that is my point

He kia anything S$ / Singapore investment.

Many foreigners who invested here are crying in tears to see a stronger S$ relative to their devalued currencies; RM,Indonesia Rupiah, British Pound etc even without any rise of assets .
BTW , STI has gone up from 2800 to 3200 last few months too.
And the property market is stirring.

For most people, I do not recommend investing 100% in assets that are highly or entirely correlated with Singapore dollars -- or with any single currency. Such an investment approach would run counter to every well proven principle of reasonnable portfolio diversification. If you're going to suggest otherwise, I'm going to disagree.

Some amount of international diversification is important, especially but not only when considering investment choices within a relatively small country.

Many foreigners who invested here are crying in tears to see a stronger S$ relative to their devalued currencies....
That doesn't make any logical sense. You've got it exactly backwards. If they are invested in, for example, Singapore government bonds, then a rise in the value of Singapore dollars relative to other currencies is an event they would appreciate, not cry about.

To me, it should be for some people instead of for most people.
