I just got a this computer:
i5 on MSI H61M-P31/W8 Motherboard
and 4GB DDR3 Memory.
Decided to add 8GB PC3 10600 IBM SDRAM
and it still only sees 4GB. I swapped modules but nothing changes.
Im running on windows 7 64bit
if i remove old 4GB and start on new 8GB it doesnt start at all.
Keep rebooting and i cant get into setup.
Now my question:
is the new 8GB module faulty or is there something i do wrong?
Thanks

bro. what kind of module are u inserting? usually RAM have different in specification although i may still be DDR3. Mixing and matching ram may cause instability or clock to the lowest speed whichever module is the slowest.

W8 version shouldn't have any issues supporting 8GB mamory modules.
Was your 8GB stick working prior to transferring over to your comp?
If its working, I won't rule out incompatibility issue.
See if you can bring the ram to test at a friend's comp.
