Im currently using the Sony MDR-1A, and have them usually plugged into my Razer Blackwidow chroma's jacks.. but after encountering the problem with the mic, i tried plugging my headsets into the back of my cpu too but nothing works :(

My computer details:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
RAM 16 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Edition (build 9200), 64-bit

Sound:
Audio 1
Sound Device Realtek High Definition Audio
Driver 6.0.1.7553
Audio 2
Sound Device NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)
Driver
Audio 3
Sound Device NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Driver 1.3.34.15

I only got the microphone to work around 1/2 days before it just stopped working, i tried it using my phone and the mic is still working, just not on my pc.

Under PLAYBACK DEVICES, it has 'SPEAKERS' and 'Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output',
my headset plays under 'SPEAKERS' and no sound is generated when i click to test the 'Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output'.

Under RECORDING,
theres both the 'microphone' and 'stereo mix', i tried setting both and default comm devices before but the mic is still not working.
The 'Line in' states 'not plugged in' (IMAGE ABOVE)

I had my realtek HD Audio Manager updated to the latest version too.
This is how it looks like now.

As you can see the 2nd Audio output is still there but it still generates no sound at all. My sound is still generated through 'Speakers'

How should i go around retasking my headsets? I know im able to retask it using the back panel/front panel settings, what should i retask it as? these are the settings it has now.

FOR THE BACK/FRONT PANEL UNDER 'SPEAKERS':

Included a pic of my Device Manager/Sounds, video and game controllers:

I've tried various solutions suggested online but i still cant get my mic working, could any kind souls provide me a solution to this? @ @

PCs de 3.5mm port dont support mic de eh... as in u go get a pair of typical apple earpiece that comes with the phone, the mic works with the phone right?
u plug into PC the mic wont work (if u own a macbook then the mic will work)
just go to ur nearby pc shop and get a cheap mic

edit: eh ur mic was working before? thats weird

edit2: i googled, ur headphone connector is the type i described above, shouldnt be working for PC at all eh

I think PC all along like that - different color for different input/output.
Notebook used to have headphone/speaker and mic separate but has since move to single connector for both output/input.

I may be wrong, but I thought the blackwidow chroma's ports are 1 audio and 1 mic port, same as a PC.

Anw TS, if your headphone has only 1 x 3.5mm jack with 4-pole, then just get a splitter for mic and audio jack. It will work with your desktop.
