Problem with GPU?

Hi all, got a problem which I think is caused by GPU. While using a 1080p screen, the screen will sometimes go black for a few seconds and then return to normal for a few seconds then black again. It happens after 2-3 minutes of running. Tried a 1280x1024 screen and I don't have this problem. Is there any way to fix this or must RMA the GPU?

GPU is a Sapphire HD7850 2GB OC, and the screen is a Philips 227EQPH.

Uninstall your driver, then Driver Sweeper (d/l from guru3d) it, then install a fresh set of driver and see how. If problem still persists, probably you need to RMA. Btw which PSU you're using?

If try different screen no issue, could be monitor faulty. I had a similar problem before too (vertical lines running across screen randomly, even on idle) and I also thought is my graphics card uplorry. Lucky I went to test with another monitor and found out actually is my own monitor uplorry. Got anything like a laptop to test your monitor separately from your CPU?

I tested with laptop via HDMI. No problems whatsoever with my screen.

Ok i'll give that a try soon. I'm using a Seasonic S12ii 520W Bronze.

Should be monitor problems. Do you have a similar resolution monitor or tv? If got like 1080p tv hook up to it, if no problems at all most likely is your current monitor causing you issues.

Cos you use lower ress maybe the GPU was better with it, but if test with simmilar ress more accurate see if it yields the same result.

I tested with the laptop, using the monitor as my main and sole display output on 1080p. Unless this doesn't work as an actual test then please enlighten me

I don't think I have a TV with the same res though.

Your laptop not 1080p right? Cos like this hard to tell if monitor or GPU faulty if the test is not constant.
It may be that 1080p that is stressing the faulty GPU, so if you take a lower ress, maybe the GPU is faulty but can still handle it.
However, if you try the same GPU on two 1080p ress and one have issue, most likely can deduce is the monitor faulty.

Ok, if you don't have a 1080p resolution, no worries.

Use your ONBOARD GRAPHIC, and plug into your 1080p monitor. If still have issue, most likely is monitor faulty le bro.

Your laptop not 1080p right? Cos like this hard to tell if monitor or GPU faulty if the test is not constant.
It may be that 1080p that is stressing the faulty GPU, so if you take a lower ress, maybe the GPU is faulty but can still handle it.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll try both. Though I think I tried using onboard and the screen didn't work at all.
