Problem with graphic card or with something else?

Hi guys, need some help.

I've been having problems with my PC for some time now.

I got an EVGA GTX670 SC 4GB with the setup as follows:

CPU : i7 950
Motherboard : Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
RAM : Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 3x2GB
PSU : Seasonic X750W (older version, before they released the X760W)

This was my main PC but is seldom used due to work done mostly on 2 laptops. But when I actually do use it, I found months back that most of the time within the first 10 minutes of use the PC will hang for a few moments, black out for a few moments, then come back on with a prompt:

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version xxx.xx stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Every time I update a driver, it will be perfectly smooth for the first use, I can even leave the PC running overnight and nothing bad will happen. But from the 2nd time I switch on my PC, the above will happen.

The last 2 or 3 driver updates however, made it worse. I still get the above problem once in awhile, but more often the PC would just reboot itself, and then when I get back into Windows it will prompt that the PC suffered a blue screen. Out of the many times this has happened, I've actually only seen the actual blue screen maybe twice though, almost all other times it's just the reboot.

Is my graphics card up-lorry-ed? It can't possibly be that every driver that NVIDIA puts out is causing problems?

Also, if I iinstall my drivers from the NVIDIA website, do I still need to install the NVIDIA Graphics Adaptor WDDM1.1 update in Windows Update? Please tell me it's not because I didn't install it that is causing the problems

you try to do a clean installation of the latest Nvidia drivers. There's an option to select 'Clean Install' during the process.

If cannot. try the next PCIe slot.

If still cannot, call distro.
