Problem with old comp - sometimes no response after power on

Hi,

I have an old comp. Sometimes no response after power on, no beep sound at all. Then I check connection, take out/put back RAM, remove/install sata hdd connection. after power on, everything seems ok. use memcheck and no error reported.

So what is the likely problem with my comp? RAM, hdd, CPU or MB?

There are a number of possible causes. The usual trouble-shooting involves reseating the RAM and GPU after cleaning the gold contacts and replacing the CMOS battery (if it hasn't been changed for a few years).

Your rig is kinda old, don't what power supply this rig is using.

well if u have some spare parts try these:

test 1 by 1 the rams in each slots.
test the drive one by one.
test new and old psu.
test with your onboard gpu or discrete gpu.
