Problem with s3, HELP!

My s3 has being heating up occassionally even when it is off. It also heat up when it is charging. The battery drains up excessively, the whole battery would be wipe up with 2.5 hrs from 100percent. Is there any chances that the battery is faulty?

Samsung advise me to pay a $30 non refundable check to identify the area which is faulty. I would need to pay extra charges if any hardware were to be replaced.

I would like to know anyone has experience the same problem as I do. Thanks in advance, your help is very much appreciated.

Sounds like an application hung the cpu to lock it at 100% causing a battery drain.

Backup your contacts and try resetting the phone to factory defaults to see whether the problem occurs again?

Could be a circuit problem... don't bother with Samsung... I use this shop before to repair a Sony Ericsson Ray that had a battery drain issue (charging circuit chip spoiled) and they are really good... and cheap too... confirm cheaper than Samsung if any parts need replacing... they repair on the spot if they have the part onsite otherwise you get it the next day.
