Hi all, recently my 5 years com when dead on me.

I have decided to move on from phenom xii to haswell, thinking that i could savage my black shadow i remove it and give it some cleaning, however one side of the heatsink seems to be in a bad condition as shown in the attached picture below.

Wonder if anyone have any idea whether i could save this heatsink. Or its time for me to move on to a new heatsink or just use stock cooler? Mainly use for PS and other normal daily use.
If this heatsink could still be use, where can i find the 1150 mount? since niceday is gone already.

thankyou

that looks like dust build up right? why not just brush it away or use an air spray to spray it off?

the heatsink will work la... honestly the oxidation will not affect performance by much... the thing abt heartsinks is that no moving parts so cannot really die.
fans may fail but u can always replace (or refill the lubricant)
AIO coolers can leak, pump can fail etc....

AIO can leak... but chances are super low unless u break something.. normally i prefer AIO as its more easier to move to newer cpus and maintenance is easier

there have been a couple of leaks already reported however looking at the tens of thousands that have been sold that should be excusable...
