hi afroken, thanks for sharing!

anybody has any idea if all other specs same but different cut, for example cushion brellia comparing with super ideal or solasfera, will the price differs alot? more or less?

Solasfera will be the most expensive, followed by the brellia and finally the super ideal. The price differs by a few hundred dollars for each cut.

Did you get this from JP? Thought they do not carry round numbers e.g. 0.50?

Yes I got it from JP. I told the lady my requirement is that the diamond should hold the value well, in case next time bankrupt need to pawn it off or if I tio reject :s13:

Not sure if she recommended me the correct thing though.

Was at JP today to try on my wax ring :D

This was the 3D design that they came up with for my Solasfera diamond..

I'm more or less settled with the rose gold prongs as it makes the setting look more like a flower..

This is the physical wax ring for me to see before they start crafting it in whitegold. Overall, I'm very happy with their service. They were very patient with me and I could tell that they put in alot of effort to help me with my ideal proposal ring. Very excited to see how my final ring would look like

Do share your photos after your ring is done! I would be interested to know how your final ring will look :)

Btw, this is my ring pics on my BIG day :D

Had a minor scare 2 days before my wedding.. I accidentally knocked my ring while opening my house metal gate causing a small scratch on the surface of my band.. Was so upset about it.. I immediately called JP and ask if they can help do something about it. They were kind enough to rush and re-plate my ring all in 1 day without extra charge :)

Yours is a better deal than mine.

I paid $3950 for a 0.51ct, E, VS2 super ideal cut. Round.

Is that the 6-prongs twisted ring setting?
I think I saw that ring setting before when I was having my session with JP, I like twisted ring settings, but I picked up the Cushion Brellia in the end, so the twist ring settings wouldn't fit ahaha

Is VS1 and VS2 price differing by so much?

BTW they just called me to say they will change mine to a 0.51.. based on your price, I think I should ask for 0.52 or 0.53 man

My diamond is a Super Ideal 0.76 E VS2.. I received alot of PMs asking me what's the details of my diamond.. I'll just post it here for everyone to know :) It does looks bigger than it seems.. Alot of my friends thought that it was at least a 1 carat and was surprised when I told them it's "only" a 0.76".. haha.. I remember JP telling me that their Super Ideal diamonds looks bigger cos it's cut to optimize their size and brilliance.

Thanks babe! Yeah, they have 4 times free polishing.. but at first they told me it usually takes 3-5 working days.. was very grateful they could rush it out for me.. Pmed you my nail place :)

Yup!! This one is the professional picture JP took for my ring.. can see clearer.. Ya, I the twist setting is probably more suited for round diamonds

From what I was quoted, Solasfera is slightly more expensive because the diamond has more facets (which requires better workmanship, i suppose). Not too sure how the price of Cushion Brellia compares to the Super Ideal/Solasfera but my opinion is you have to like what you buy and more importantly within your budget.

Believe you can start by reading this thread.. my guess for 3K you should be able to get a 0.45 (and below) G color, VS2 with simple ring setting.

You can always ask JP to quote you what's available based on your budget and you make the call whether what they show you is worth it.

Hope this helps.

Hi I need to buy a proposal ring soon. I was quoted a 13k for a 0.5 carat diamond ring at lee hwa jewellery. It is called the destinee royal diamond. Is this worth it? or it is expensive because it is a brand in the mall. I dont know much about diamond myself. Budget is around 10-20k
