Main difference is just the shapes.. Brellia is cushion shape, Angel is squarish shape. Both have 8 hearts/arrows. The Angel has more facets though..

They both have their own website

Angel Diamond - Q&A

The Brellia Diamond

Angel™ Q&A

Q: What is an Angel™ Diamond?
A: The first Ideal Square Cut Hearts & Arrows Diamond.

Q: What makes an Angel™ Diamond so special?
A: It is a new patented square cut diamond that yields a Hearts and Arrows Pattern when examined through the Hearts and Arrows Scope. It is the First Ideal Square Cut Hearts & Arrows Diamond.

Q: Where was Angel™ Diamond Cut created?
A: The finest craftsmen in Antwerp have developed this revolutionary cut.

Q: What makes the Angel™ Diamond such a perfect diamond?
A: The perfection lies in the symmetrical alignment of each of the 80 facets and the highest degree of polish resulting in a brilliant light reflection yielding a Hearts & Arrows pattern.

Q: What makes this Angel™ Diamond Cut better than any other Square Cut Diamond?
A: We have taken the ever-popular Square Cut Diamond to a new level which is above and beyond the regular Square Cut; it is the first Ideal Square Cut Diamond.

Q: How many facets are there in Angel™ Diamond?
A: There are 80 facets resulting in a light reflection yielding a Hearts & Arrows pattern and because it is cut to "Ideal" proportions it generates SCINTILLATION that is beyond any existing standard square cut diamond.

Didn't know Angel cut has 80 facets.. It looks very similar to the Brellia to me except at the corners. I remember seeing both diamonds before.. Couldn't see much of a difference in sparkles though

is angel cut considered multi faceted since it has 80 of them?
angel is very suitable for wedding band because of the corners... straighter can fit well in a band and appear low lying if you know what i mean.. was gonna get it last time after trying on a sample but found it too flashy for my liking
chose a plainer band instead ;)

Have someone inquired about the price of .15ct or .25ct Cushion Brellia or .30ct Solasfera with JP?

Base on reading, they are only carrying .30cts

I saw on their FB page for a trilogy ring that they uses .15 Cushion Brellia on the sides.

Thanks.

Yup.. If its higher than the standard 57 facets, then it's considered a multi facets. Wonder if it comes in melees like the Brellia.

Whats enamel? Never heard of that in a ring before.

It's finely grounded glass that can add different colours to jewellery and can make the bands look more vibrant but the flip side is the bands can look more like chepa costume jewellery. Haha..

Pardon me ;-), can wait to see the finish product, can you share the 3D Render as well?

Thanks.

Yup, will try to post photos of the 3D image that I already have and the final product once I get it.. :)

Sorry to hear about this piece of news. I think this is definitely not a police case. It all depends on what JP is willing or can do for you but since this took place before the lemon law, it might be hard for you to prove that the setting was not properly done, leading to the diamond falling out.

We made a police report last night. I've also checked with my insurance company but they don't cover protection for the diamond ring.

I think Jannpaul should be responsible for the diamond because of their poor craftsmanship that is why the diamond dropped out from the ring setting. I've also asked about the lemon law but that is only applicable if i bought my ring last month? :( My fiance has been very upset and devastated on this incident even though I told her I could get her another diamond ring. I don't think I'd dare to go back to Jannpaul again.

Really sorry to hear about that bro. Yes, lemon law only kicked in after 1 Sept. No reply from JP? And actually this experience may deter me from buying at JP because no point getting a good quality diamond at an affordable price only for it to be lost. I can't imagine how agonizing it is for you and your fiancee. It's not about getting the ring again but I guess engagement rings really mean a lot to females.

GIA and AGS certificate what are the differences?

Hope some can answer this question...
Most stores I visited market their diamonds with GIA certificates.
Seldom I see AGS. IMO, AGS certificate seems more informative and well presented.

An old jeweler told me AGS does not retain value. What's your take guys?

It's the same,
with more information on AGS, but otherwise AGS has tighter criteria for "000", but still looking through sopes will weed bad 3 ex and 3 000

You can send diamonds for recertification anyway:s12:

AGS certified diamonds are more rare. Their market share is low. So far I am only aware of one jeweller which has primarily AGS certified diamonds for modern round brilliants. There are some branded diamonds such as Lazare and Hearts on Fire which may also come with an AGS cert.

One strong advantage of the AGS is its light performance report. I feel that AGS and GIA are the only recommended diamond certification to have for the best value for money, as they are the most consistent in its grading.

I made a simple comparison on Jannpaul solasfera with ALL the stocks on goodoldgold's, same manufacturer, same factory, but all of jannpaul's stocks look perfect. I'm curious is it the differentiating standards from the same manufacturer, or is it a fact that jp photoshopped all their images to make it more appealing for the consumer to make a buying decision.

All their hearts are so aligned, no faults, no bends, no inclusions, no issues at all, just perfect.

I'm fine with photoshopping to increase the contrast and saturation, but removing inclusions, reshaping the hearts and arrows, to me is deception.

So perfect.

actually you can tell it isn't photoshopped, if it was the 9 oblock heart would be exactly the same size, but it's slightly smaller. alot of the inclusions you're looking at are SI too :s12:

I just looked at the goodoldgold stock, Not all the Solasfera's you listed are EX/EX, some are EX/VG. All the JP Solasferas i've seen here are EX/EX and high clarity diamonds

this one http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9535/ would look like JP's picture

Same manufacturers and factories does not mean same diamonds, hearts on fire from Tianpo has very different standards from hearts on fire from America, Brilliant rose(same manufacturer and diamond as Leo diamond) is different from the Leo sold in the states

i went to house of hung to view their diamonds before. when i m there the diamonds that they shown me got some impurities inside and i can see it using the scopes.
however when they emailed me the photos later all the impurities disappeared. they definitely photoshopped the images to make it look more attractive for the consumer.
it bothers me because i don't know if it is the same images from the diamond that i m getting.

From what you have experienced, it is quite obvious that the image that they sent to you have been photoshopped since the impurities that you saw before was disappeared in the image given by them.

Why not you try to post the question to GOG if their Solasfera have the same standard as JP? I believe Jonathan from GOG would be able to provide us the answer.

I have gotten two rings from JP.
One is a proposal ring 0.43ct with cartier settings.
The second is a customised wedding ring. The diamonds for both of the rings never dropped off.

feitonglong, how rough is your fiance with her ring?

My wife wore her proposal ring (0.43cts) doing manufacturing work. Operating machines, and even handling of chemicals She is very rough (Sorry JP!) So far no issue with the diamond falling out.

Myself; I am a technician. I repair machines, climbing out and into machines, soldiering. Occasionally, I do accidentally knock my ring onto hard surfaces. Also no issue.

I trust JP cos when I get the diamonds from them, they create the ring from scratch to accommodate the diamond. They do not accommodate the diamond to the ring like majority of the jewellery stores in most mall.

Did anyone see the post made by Jannpaul earlier? They addressed feitonglong diamond ring and the scope pictures. I refreshed the page 10 mins later and Jannpaul's post and feitonglong post were both gone. Something strange is going on.
