At the end of the day. A marriage is much more than a proposal ring. What's the point of a big super ring but a failed marriage. *choi!*

The budget we all set depends on our own income and whether we want to splurge on this, splurge on something else or save for a rainy day. Logically saving for a rainy day to prepare for kids makes more sense.

As long as your FW wife is happy. The budget big or small doesn't matter. So don't think too much abt it. =)

From what the other forumers have mentioned. Seems like you can get a good sized good diamond from JP.

All the best with it and wishing you a happy marriage for the years to come. =)

Hi, thanks! Feel more confident about it now. Folks in here seems to have really deep pocket...really really deep pocket. Mine is just a humble one.

There's wedding and renovation to think about. So ya... :)

Will update on my appointment with JP next week. Anyone else in here who has gone to JP with my sorta budget? Care to share?

My budget was a humble 3k and managed to get their Solasfera diamond :)

If you have set a budget, then you should stick to it. You can adjust the other diamond factors like clarity and color to fit your price. But never sacrifice on the Cut! ;)

How much more is a JP Solasfera cut compared to a round brilliant? Whats a good estimate of a 0.7carat F/G VS2 super ideal round cut?

I'm not sure about the 0.7c sizes in the Solsfera. Mine was a Solasfera 0.35 E VS1 for 3k, including custom setting.

Do you think this type of design is suitable for a 0.4carat diamond? Or is there a minimum size for it

hi what are the payment terms? Deposit and then payment on collection? Or is it full payment upfront?

From what I heard its deposit and remainder upon collection.

Deposit amount I'm not sure. Lowest I heard is $500. Best to arrange appointment with them and it'll be more clearer I guess.

Manhattan card use it if you have.

Exactly what Des126 said. Perhaps you can upload the pictures and provide specs?

My journey began with BlueNile too. An Appraiser told me to buy locally instead. =P BlueNile has some nice looking settings too.

The first one has strong fluorescence which is a big no no.. The symmetry is only Good. I'll pass on this one

The second one Table % is slightly too small. It'll make the diamond look smaller. You are also paying a high price for the IF clarity..

The third one also a Table % that is slightly too small. The rest seems fine except for the ratio. Try to get a ratio closer to 1. This one has a ratio of 0.84, which makes the diamond looking wider than normal.

Hi everyone,

Seek ur advice between the two super ideal stones from jannpaul on which is better?

1) 0.715, E-VS2 @ $6,500
2) 0.75, D-VS1 @ $8,000

Depends on yr budget. For me, the 0.715 is good enough.

U wouldn't see the one difference in colour and clarity with yr naked eyes. Save the extra $1500 for other things. But well It's all up to u =)

Happy Proposal =p
