hey guys, i am considering getting a sookee/lee hwa proposal ring... how many days or perhaps months do you think they need to do the setting and whatsoever?? sorry i know nuts about buying jewelery. pls help

Bro, I suggest you make an appt with JannPaul and learn more about it. After confirmation of the diamond/settings, I believe it takes approximately 1mth+ to collect depending on how complicated is your setting. :D

Hi guys, I am spending $6.8k for a 0.52ct, Goldheart Celestial Astrelle ring. expensive?

It is G colour and vs2 in clarity. I think it is Goldheart's top notch collection.

Mine is 0.77ct, G color and VS2 at 7.2k.. And I thought mine was expensive...

Like other forumers, I think its slightly on the expensive side.

My Solasfera, 0.54c, E colour and VS2, is cheaper than yours.

it is expensive.
but i believe what is more important is to get what she likes.

Well there are definitely the cheaper alternatives if you guys are open for options.

I can only see the real thing in January. Jann says it takes up to 7 weeks to finish crafting the ring.

The price of dilly dallying. :s13:

is it possible to get a nice proposal ring with a budget of 3k?

It depends whether you have any other criteria.. Carat and other factors.. You can play around with bluenile to find something similar to what you want and then visit JannPaul..

You get a very in-depth tutorial on diamonds (about 2 hours). They share with you the tools (physical and online) to determine how good the diamond is. With advertising only through word of mouth, they keep the cost low, hence we get better deal.

In my case, I gave them a diamond spec and the quotation was similar. I arranged an appointment, learnt a lot more, and realised that the diamond JannPaul has better HCA. On top of that, you get 4 times resizing, 4 times coating and something else. Can't remember clearly. Also, they send you the photos of the diamond under the various scopes.

Me, like you, was sceptical before I went. I thought it was 'just a small shop' selling shiny rocks. I went and realised it was a big one instead. Casey was there to serve me. The attitude was great, gave me a very detailed explanation on what is a good diamond and the ways to see a good diamond. They will show you the scope photos which other jewellery shops won't.

At the end of the tutorial, I told him I need to consider, even though I was spending just a small amount, he didn't put any pressure on me.

All in all, the experience was good. You should try.

After the tutorial, I went to Lee Hwa and asked about their Destinee. The 2 salespersons never heard of the term 'HCA', nor do they know how many hearts and arrows the diamonds have. :s16:

Still in a dilemma which to get.... a branding ring from Brilliant Rose/Destinee or a ring from Jann Paul. Some feedback gathered were get a branded proposal ring and a no branding wedding band later.. as proposal ring is for showing off. Is that true or the other way round?

It depends on ur other half I should say.. But from my pov, wat for pay for branding when u can get the same or even better quality at cheaper price..:D You might consider using the same amt of $$ which you pay for branding and go for a bigger carat from JP.

When they asked, juz show them the GIA cert. haha.. Lose the branding but win the brilliance & $$.

on top of that, "private jeweller" sounds like a good brand too. I will still go back to JP for my next diamond (for the same woman :s13: )
