Cost depends on design. Their setting with side diamonds starts from 1k and takes about 4 weeks.. if you plan to do lots of customization, I advise you to start earlier.. cos that 4 weeks doesn't include drawing up your design. They go by appt.

Yup. The collection they gave me was 2 month after my appointment.. They took 2 weeks to sent me de 3D rendering that I want den aft tat 1 week+ to modify the design. They will only start crafting after u confirm the design with them.

Thx! I emailed them already and set appointment next week. Anyone want to follow me? =:p They reply email damn fast.. got a reply in 10 mins.

Btw, they said customization takes 4-8 weeks depending on design.

Hi all,

I'm a total noob and zero noob in proposal ring and finally about to embark on the journey of getting one...

However as I've read up some of the pages, I realised that the advice most of u gave seems to be not getting from those usual jewelery retailers that we have in our towns...

Can I roughly know the gist of why so?

I'm thinking to get from love & co but kinda hesitating now seeing the other recommendations made here...

Guys, if u have a budget of 10-15k for the diamond ring, if ur gf suggest u to get a rolex watch instead of diamond for proposal, will u all buy that suggestion? As we all know the value of diamond depreciates, but the value of the rolex stays. I was thinking of getting a rolex and then a smaller diamond for her to wear. All in all will be below the budget.

In my opinion I think that love and co, Tiffany and co etc is priced by it's brand. They will not be that exact as compared to jannpaul where they show u different scope view of the diamonds and diamond picture etc. customisation of the ring is also cheaper here.

Nevertheless u can try to visit all the shops before u purchase it! Make a comparison between all and then make a decision. That's what I do. But for jannpaul do make sure u make appt 2 mth before ur proposal as they need time to customise your ring.

Cheers!

R u sure she's not kidding on de Rolex part? Haha. Not sure how much does one cost. If she really wan a Rolex maybe u can really propose with that and maybe after that customize a wedding ring. Since most girls wear their wedding rings instead of engagement ring after their wedding.

didn't realise i had enquiries on the ring I bought from JannPaul until now (last one was 2013 lol). Sorry for late reply! Anyway I'm lazy to repost the pics so I will just share the link to google drive folder.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxOrwagPsovHZktubzdUU3R1TFE&usp=sharing

Damage about $6k, for a cushion brellia it's totally worth it. Even strangers will stop my wife to ask her about it. What an ego-booster lol

LOL. Yours look huuge for a 0.6ct size man.

Honey Mastard,

Mind sharing where u got your ring from? Or can pm me?

On another note, anyone can offer opinion of diamonds from House of Hung if JP diamonds are above my budget as gf is more interested in carat size and feels ideal and "super ideal" probably we won't notice much diff unless we scrutinise really close.

Stressing over getting something I feel is good enough for her and what I feel is what I can afford. Thanks in advance

IMO, no need to stress... just give her the best that you can afford, even if it is just a small rock, I'm sure she can feel the sincerity.

However, if you are stingy, she can sense it too...! :o

Hi Guys,

I know this question may sound noob. But like to ask is it ok to bring gf and visit Jewelry shop to purchase the type of Proposal Ring she like or just buy and make it as a surprise?

I think the point is to make her happy. If she suggested to get a rolex watch instead of a diamond for proposal, why not? :s13: Or you can leave it as an anniversary present.

I brought my gf to JannPaul.. so she can see for herself what she's getting in a diamond and also choose something which she likes..

Hope this helps!

Flyflyworm, carat is just the weight of the diamond. Most impt is the cut. Good cut makes the diamond looks bigger. Higher setting too. So maybe u can choose a super ideal cut with high setting? Big Carat doesn't mean big diamonds. :)

What do you guys think of this diamond?

AGS 104068798129
O.543carat G VS1

I see some less bright region at 1 o'clock edge. There is a feather near the edge between 3 and 4 o'clock and seems like cloud and crystal near the center is causing a bit more contrast around that area.

Proportions looks great.
Yeah, the 1 o'clock edge have a green patch that shows digging. But the certificate's picture is not accurate. You should check it with the aset scope.
The inclusions shouldn't add contrast.. VS1 is mostly likely eye clean.. so should be safe.

Visited JP yesterday after work. Was served by Jerome. Anyone heard of him before? Think his a new guy.. very friendly and patient with me even though I told him I won’t be buying today. Ended up spending 2hrs with him on the diamond education. Didn’t get to talk about the customization part cos the shop was closing. I strongly recommend Diamond noobs should attend their diamond lessons. Its free and very comprehensive.. and can be abit information overloaded at times.. lol. Luckily I did some basic reading first.. if not it’ll be too much info to digest.

I narrowed down to their Solasfera or Brellia. Leaning more towards the Brellia.
In terms of pricing: Brellia = Super Ideal < Solasfera
For the same price, I can get a Brellia that is slightly better specs.

The Solasfera looks damn sparkly man.. but they don’t have much stocks left. The Brellia has a wider selection.
Do you guys check with your GF on the shape first? Or just buy by feeling?

Waiting for their scopes… will post them up when I get them.

Not sure who is Jerome. I was attended by Casey and Sam last time.
I brought my gf together to make the decision.. abit untraditional, but we've been together for so long and applied for BTO first before we got the ring. haha. My experience was very easy. She saw the Brellia, chose it, case closed :s13:
