Here's my experience at JP after going down twice with my GF..

We were served by two different sales executives on the two occasions.

First visit, sales executive was quite nice, not pushy and basically gave a crash course on diamonds much like most of the peeps here experienced. Left my name, contact number and email address as she said she could email me more information. We actually arrived less than an hour to closing time but she took the time to explain things and not rush us. Got her name card as well.

Second visit, this was a little short, as I only wanted to confirm a few details with my GF before going on my own subsequently so she wouldn't know what I'll be buying for her. Second sales executive was okay and cooperative with what I needed to confirm. Gave her my name and email address as she said she wanted to email me too (First sales executive didn't email me).

It's been 4 and 2 days since my first and second visit respectively, but I've not gotten any emails from them at all (I checked my junk folder as well).

So I was talking to my GF and thinking which sales executive I should communicate with for the proposal ring and she said the first one since my GF felt quite comfortable with her.

Whatsapp-ed the first sales executive (she had her mobile number in the name card so I guess it's okay to use Whatsapp as a form of communication?), asking her if she knew when any new Solasfera diamonds would be coming in (quite interested in the Solasferas compared to Super Ideal). She read my message, no reply, then her Whatsapp status changed to "Not available, please email <JP Sales Email>".

That kind of pissed me off a little. Firstly, both sales executives failed to email me. Fine, I wasn't really put off by that. But when your mobile number is on your name card and a potential customer contacts you through that number, you don't simply ignore him and do the whole Whatsapp status crap. I'm not naming names here but I just felt that this negative feedback should really be given so that JP can perhaps avoid such similar cases in the future. Don't be a victim of your own success.

DISCLAIMER: I know there was this whole Vivo Diamonds defamation case thing so I want to clarify that I am a neutral party and a BF who is just looking for the most suitable diamond for his future wife-to-be. In fact, one of my GF's friend just got a proposal ring from JP.

UPDATE: First sales executive replied, so some saving grace for JP here. :)

I am not sure about that, they don't exactly have a label saying I'm House of Hung staff.. :D

I believe if you have emailed/called for an appointment, you should be attended by JP staffs instead of HoH staffs.

Great! at least she finally keep in touch with you le. :s12:

My first visit was impromptu, so didn't make any appointment. However both name cards was printed with JANN PAUL on one side. Don't think HoH staff will have those name cards as well right?

Your jeweller should be able to show u the inclusions under magnification.

GIA specs look good. HCA score of 1.0 is good too. The rest will need to see scope images.

Hi guys,

I am kinda new on this diamond thingy..

I plan to buy a diamond ring - 0.71 carat, E, vs1, excellent cut (GIA report - 2186631960). The person quoted me for SGD5750 for the diamond and SGD250 for the setting - classic solitaire tiffany white gold 18K..do you think its a good buy?

Should i go for vvs or vs for the clarity? Understand that it wont make any difference to the naked eyes..is that true?

Appreciate the help..thanks..

Its an in-house ring maybe? How can we tell that the ring is indeed white gold 18 K, is there any certification for the ring?

Anyone here knows Tay Kim Seng (Poh Kim jewellery)? I got his contact from my friend. He is more on wholesaler of the diamond instead of store. Any opinion? The person is quite helpful.
