Sharing my hoot from David, visited him twice.
We choose between the below and Solasfera, in the end my gf prefer the below as she felt that Solasfera blink was quite messy in a 0.5carat.

Wanted to ask you guys....what does it mean when GIA Cert Comment

Clarity grade is based on clouds that are not shown
Surface graining is not shown.

They are inclusions that are too insignificant, that they don't bother including it in the clarity grading.. (like need to use 70X magnification to see it). They are quite common apparently..

Can see What does this mean on GIA cert : RockyTalky • Diamond Jewelry Forum - Compare Diamond Prices, Discussions & Diamond Information

I used to think round is the safest bet till I saw Brellia. It's also like the cutest shaped diamond. :D

Haha.. second that! my gf kinda sees it like a "hello kitty" diamond. She's into those cutesy cutesy stuff... like putting her soft toys in my car -_-"

Hi all,

similar to the previous TS, i decided to go with the super ideal than solasfera because i prefer a "cleaner" look. Still under deposit status so have not decided. Budget is roughly about 6-7k inclusive of settings. :o hope all the experts here can comment on this!

Thanks in advance! Sorry for the wall of photos. :s12:

Already spoken with few jewelers in various shops (gold heart, leehwa, tiffany & co, love & co, JP) and seen their diamonds and ring design, and seriously I wouldn't classify JP as honest diamond dealer because they got not bad diamonds to be a liar actually. In fact, JP willing to spend time to input us with the knowledge is to deter us from buying diamond from others because they knew they themselves are selling good diamonds. And they aren't pushy because they knew we will buy from them eventually... come on, they are not really for the mass market, they do not need quantity but quality, so they can afford to filter out all those bad diamonds.

Lastly and I will need to mentions this, all jewelers are good and trying their best to advertise their ring design / diamonds except for LeeHwa. Despite spending so much thru media advertisement, but their service sucks!!!

I have trouble understanding your post because the English grammar is just weird. So, you are saying (1) JP is dishonest but (2) their diamonds are good quality???

And, no, not all jewelers are good. Read through the history of this forum thread and u will find people with poor experiences. And no again, not all diamonds are good. And lastly, no again, JP does not know for sure that anyone will buy from them. Same for any other retail shop. If any retail shop knew 100% that everyone visiting them would buy from them, then there is no risk involved in starting one's own business and we would all be businessmen.

For a 0.68ct standard 57 facet H&A with those clarity and color, i will say 6-7k is definitely reasonable. Its not a bargain but neither is it expensive.

The light leakage on that diamond is very good already for a standard cut. See below comparison, please. Before u decide fully.

Sorry for my previous post, and thank you for your corrections. Please let me explain…

1) I never say JP is dishonest. I just do not wish to classify them with the term ‘honest’, unless they honestly reveal something bad about their diamonds. Honest and dishonest are not the two words to describe them in my opinion. With my limited knowledge, I didn’t see any bad flaws in their diamonds so far, unlike some diamonds from other retailers when comparing with either the similar price range or diamond specs. Anyway, JP takes in their diamond cuts that are not common among the retailers, so apple to apple comparing not that easy too. I presumed that JP always looking for quality and not quantity like other retailers, so they can personally filter out all of those bad diamonds just for the quality.

2) Yes, no retailers will be able to tell whether the walk-in customers are buying from them or not. It will be slightly different scenario for JP, since they didn’t really go for mass media advertisements, so mainly their customers know about them by word-of-mouth. Word-of-mouth will only works if they are really good. We roughly know their standard when we walk in, and I believe JP understands their own standard as compared to other retailers as well. They have the confident on their diamonds and the confident that we will be satisfy on the spot, unless someone long for locally famous/branded diamonds, and that someone probably won’t want to visit JP in the first place.

3) Yes I agree that not all diamonds are good, I am referring to JP’s good diamonds only. You misunderstand me, my fault.

4) Yes I agree with you now that strictly speaking not ALL jewelers are good. The one jeweler from LeeHwa I met is one of them.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)
Meaning, Everyone has their own preference.

But in terms of the physics, and I mean strictly the physics , solesfera has the evidence to back up that it is definitely superior to traditional H&A cut. And, again, I remind that I am only talking about the science.

Ya I agree. Different people have different preferences. Some ladies even prefer smaller diamonds too. One point to note is that i requested to bring the diamond out of the shop to look at it under natural lighting, even if the sun is not out. At least JP allowed me to do so. :)

What parcvista mentioned is evident that it's down to personal preferences. Some like flashy but some may find it too flashy. You can see JP's video for comparison. :)

Their shop is on first floor plus it's also outside, at most 10 steps away. :s13:

And they are the owners, so they can make such decisions. For those retail shops, I don't think the salaried staffs wanna take such risks.

So, for my personal view, i will say i don't like to have kacang putih diamonds sitting next to the big center diamond on a ring.
