Hello, I have a solitaire which i bought from Gold Heart sometime in 2009 or 2010. I vaguely recalled the sales person say that I can trade in the ring for another.

Anyone knows if this is still possible? Also, I may have misplaced the GIA cert. Any issues with that? :s11:

Yup, you can do trade in but there will be a reduce in value. Minimum 20% iirc. Not sure if Gold Heart can retrieve the specs of the ring but looking at the number on the girdle but losing that cert I guess value might drop again.

Been to JP over the weekend and it was a very educational trip indeed! The service was indeed very good, and no hardsell. A ring caught my eye hehehe.

Still doing market research so we're pretty open to other jewellers. Heard that a couple of jewelry stores at Far East Plaza are not bad as well?

Did anyone get their rings from Canary? or Larry's? How are they compared to JP?

I felt obligated to give my review on Jann Paul and Vince because of their excellence service and high quality of ring/diamond.

I was served by Vince when I first went down to visit them. He spent 2 hours giving me education on diamonds as I was totally clueless about diamonds. I left the shop not sure if I should get from Jann Paul as I wanted to shop around.

He followed up with me during this period of time and source for stones that fit in my budget and my requirements. In fact it was because of his high service level, it made me not wanting to look elsewhere but just go ahead with his recommendations on my second visit.

Total time took to craft a customized ring was 4 months not because of what but because I made 5 changes to their 3D rendering. They was very prompt and made changes to the design. They was never once unhappy despite me being a fussy customer. After which a wax design was done up. I was happy with the end result and proceeded with crafting of ring.

Ring was crafted in less than a month and Vince rejected the ring as it was different from my design.

Ring has to be re-crafted because of their stringent screening of quality!!
This goes to show that they value their customers and they are serious about the work they produce.

Ring was finally ready for collection in June and I walked out of Jann Paul a happy customer.

High level of service by Vince and their team despite 5 x 3D rendering, 1 x wax prototype, 2 x crafting of ring !!!

Highly recommend anyone who has intention of buying diamond to visit Jann Paul !!

Thank you Vince, thank you Jann Paul :)

You mind sharing your ring design? :)

Prices?

Hi,

I have been reading thru this thread. Was trying to figure out how much
would a 0.8x Super Ideal cost at JP?

Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.

There was some sales going on at SK and went in to ask them on one of their 0.8 diamond and they quote the price to be ard 3.5k plus.

Other criterias? Including settings? I guess a F VS 2 0.8 stone would cost u 8-9k, why not just drop by JP and ask?

A 0.8carat might cost about $8k+. There's more to see in a diamond rather then just carat. Drop by JP to have an educational lesson then u go to SK and u will realise the one at SK wunt be of better quality compared to JP's :)

This was what I was quoted when enquiring at JP, for your reference:
Super Ideal Cut
0.80 G VS2 $8,800
0.81 F VS2 $9,100
0.92 G VS2 $10,400

:)

If you're talking about diamond quality, I think JP is the best there is in Singapore. If you're looking at online retailers, there's stores like whiteflash, which is comparable.

Ring else, they may not be the best, but they still have hundred of designs and can customise to what you want

If you want cheaper diamonds, ask JP to show you their ideal range... savings of at least 20% iirc

I sent it for washing at JP after resizing the ring.. it's like a 10 mins job for them.

That's also when I realised how dirty it was after playing with it for months ..
