I visited JP to source for "stone" yesterday and was served by David. Very friendly guy. Went thru a short course (2hours) with him... I think the long duration was becos of my brain cannot absorb, but he still slowly explain to me and show me all the tools they use to appraise diamond...

Sad that after the whole course, I didn't use what I learn from the short course to see the diamond... hahaha... I think maybe becos I am too relient to read the GIA cert and GEMEX report... hahaha...

anyway I am happy that I got my desired diamond from David yesterday.

Solasfera 0.53 E VS1
It's blink blink factor really ask me to hand over the money...

Congratulations! :)
The Solasfera seems to be the new round.. lol.

I mean it's cut grade :s12:
you have poor, fair, good, very good, excellent, ideal, super ideal

ideal and super ideal terms are quite commonly misused, certain vendors say 3 excellent means it's an ideal/ super ideal cut. Or that an ags cert qualifies it immediately as ideal..

ideal is commonly known to follow Towlkosky's ideal proportions, ratios, use a HCA calculator for this

Super ideal is when you tighten the proportions, analyze it's light return, symmetry and minor facets

Heart shapes have poor light performance in general by the way... but it's pretty much cheaper than a round.

All these factors affect price just cut alone. besides your other C's, fluorescence so on and so fourth, it's good if you have time to read up :s12:

I don't follow prices..... sorry:s12:

hmm but then, was told by casey that hca applies to round cut diamond and not heart shape...anyway got 1 from him, as long its blink and not too out of shape i am fine...lol

in my definition of diamond, my minimal expectation is the sparkle... no point wearing a big rock that doesn't sparkle... :s13:

I concur with that :o Anyway, I was really impressed with Jann spending 3 hours plus explaining to me and deciding what to get.

I got to thank all from the previous part 1 thread, and this thread as well for making my great decision to go there :)

now quite headache for the setting cos casey mention no sample setting for me to take reference from since his sample are for round diamond...not sure if the setting when customise will be what i want..

okie... u got pm...

I think heart shape can design a 5 prong ring... 2 prong on each side then 1 prong holding the tip....

I think heart shaped diamonds are usually held by 3 prongs.

Btw I believe there was another HWZ bro who bought a heart shaped diamond from JP too. The pictures can be found in JP's FB.

Nice or not cannot ask us. :s13:

What's most important is what your missus thinks. :D

I sat down with my g/f to work out the basic settings with Paul and a few more follow-ups (me solo to retain some element of surprise) with both Jann and Paul on the exact details.

Wow, it was indeed an eye opener as mentioned by everyone here.
I am so delighted to have selected a diamond after the trip to JP with my SO. The experience was memorable and different from the rest of the boutique which we had gone to.

Diamond shopping in JP is not only for lady, its catered to the guys too due to the different type of equipments used to validate/verify the diamond light performance instead of the regular flashing of certification.

Very impressive presentation conducted by Casey, no hard selling, patient, very very accommodating to my request. He shows us the diamond thru his eyes. =P

I am very glad that I have purchased the solasfera from JP. They have truly exceeded me and my SO expectation. But now need to headache on the setting liao.

Sell my right

Hi all,

The story began around late September 2011.

I visited Jan paul store to buy an engagement ring for my gf without consulting my parents.
My parents bought one apparently.

I knew this the night after I deposited 500 SGD for 6700 SGD.

My first reaction was calling back the store to cancel the order. I asked them whether I could use it to buy wedding bands. I confirmed with parents that they haven't bought one.

The store said that I can exchange the goods as long as it is the same value of 6700 SGD or more.
I don't think wedding bands will cost that much :(

If you guys are going to buy, I will sell my right for 450 SGD. I took 50 SGD loss instead of 500 SGD loss.

If you are interested, please kindly send me your interest through pm

Thanks a lot
