Are you seriously considering of buying a diamond from gumtree?!? So many things can go wrong there.. and its an unregulated website... What if its a stolen diamond?![]()
Do you mean there is a possibility that the jeweller is selling stolen diamonds?

Do you mean HCA 1.7 is not an Ideal? But i noticed all the HCA are below 1.5except one which is 1.7. There is one Aset image posted in Gumtree as well and it looks nice to me. Can you help to have a look?
Hahaha. Went down for a visit to JannPaul with htb a few days back. Jann was the one who served us, and of course, the usual things mentioned like the 1-2hrs tutorial etc. He showed me the 0.56c brellia and solasfera. Hmm, Jann recommended me to get the Brellia instead of Solasfera. Jann took 0.63c brellia out for us to compare, and i think i fell in love with it. hahaha.
I think high chance I will take the cushion brellia with the halo and side diamond setting. So beautiful.
It's about $5200 for 0.63c, F colour, VS1. Setting is abt $1200. I think htb went back to buy it secretly cos I told him I wanted to think which setting I prefer more. Haha. And I like their wedding bands actually.. might head back to see again another time.

It is a possibility... In the past there was alot of these kinda cases.. Even now there is like diamond swapping and stuff. There's no form of guarantee of the authenticity of the diamond. Plus if you buy online, how are you going to see the serial number of the diamond? Even on Ebay there are fraudsters selling fake goods... gum tree is even more unregulated...
My friend's mum kenna before. She bought a real diamond ring from a jewellery shop. She then went to re-size the ring at some other shops. Few years later, she decided to re-set the diamond into a pendant, and they told her that her diamond is not real. It was probably swapped to a fake one when they did her re-sizing.. and that shop closed down already.. so cannot do anything about it.
HCA is meant to be a tool of screening diamonds. There are limitations to it. In general, anything below HCA 2 and below are worth exploring further.
Perhaps, you can upload the ASET/IDEAL image here for us to see.
Always check the diamonds. If the diamonds are from a lab, they have an ID on it. If you are unsure of whether the diamond is real, get a written guarantee from the jeweller that it is genuine. Tell them that you are going to get it independently appraised. Should it be not genuine, show the independent appraisal to them. Also, be sure that the Jeweller is reputable/recognisable. They should be a legitimate business with a proper shop and setup.
i saw the image via this link.
GIA Triple Excellent Ideal H&A Diamonds - Singapore antiques, art collectibles - Gumtree Singapore
Its worth exploring. What they could have shown you is their best ASET, IDEAL and H&A image. It is almost not possible to have perfect, as they are very rare. Be sure to see the diamonds physically. I believe that they have both the IDEAL and ASET scopes. Check the GIA And AGS number on the diamond's girdle, especially when it comes to collecting. Make sure it matches the cert.
if you are a specs person, tou may also want to analyse the detailed specs of the cert, such as table, depth, crown, pavillion, etc frst.

Did you see the aset image? Do you think this an Ideal H&A diamond?
That's just a sample picture... it can be taken off anywhere...
thanks a lot for sharing so much information.
Like Babyjyo says, its worth exploring. We may not know if we never explore.

I'm getting a cushion Brellia too!You mind sharing your setting design?
The one I like is with side diamonds and also a halo around the Brellia diamond. But I'm still thinking which setting I prefer more.
1) Halo + side diamonds
2) Halo without side diamonds
3) Just with side diamonds, no halo
4) No side diamonds and halo, just the cushion brellia by itself.
My finger size is about 4. Small, so I'm still undecided.
But $1,200 is for the halo + side diamonds.

from the pics i've seen i would go with Brellia halo side diamonds, smaller halo, smaller side diamonds, will be elegant and not too chunky![]()
