Thanks for the tips guys. I'm thinking if I should bring my gf down to have a look at both diamonds. But I don't want to spoil the surprise... Is it normal to bring gf down together?

I thought of bringing her for window shopping to test test and see what kind of diamond she is into. But no other shops sell the Solasfera and Brellia.. so I can't use that as a judge..

i brought my gf down to choose her diamond which ended up a 1.08 ct Solasfera.
I see no problem with it.

There is a 3rd option. If unsure, always get the normal round brilliant. You won't go wrong. :)

Please advise

Hi, I made a deposit for a solasfera and I calcuated the HCA score on pricescope, and the following message pops out. "The total Depth % entered suggests the girdle is dangerously thin, or the data entered is incorrect."

Please advise. My diamond specs are as follows (I'm not sure on how to attach images):

0.47 carat, E, VS2
Depth: 62.2
Table: 55
Crown: 34.6
Pavilion: 42.9
Culet: None

And what does Girdle Thickness: Slightly Thick- Thick Faceted means?
And Clarity: Crystal means?

Thanks in advance. :)

HCA score is only relevant for common rounds (57 facets). Not Solasfera (which is 91 facets). :)
So, you can just ignore HCA where Solasfera is concerned.

I went down with my bf to choose my ring as well. But now he's kept the ring and is planning a proposal. LOL. So I see no problem especially if your gf already know (together for very long, already talking about marriage plans)! :D

But not as atas as you all ended up with a light blue 0.8 carat sapphire with diamond halo setting because I didn't see the point for a big diamond though I like diamonds we had better things to spend on. And I ended up liking my sapphire ring a lot after it had been done. So however awesome the ring on paper also maybe no use, bring gf down is the most accurate! :D But of course if she has no clue at all choosing it on her behalf can be really sweet. :)

Just bring her down on a pretense for jewelry shopping. You can play around and just see what she is into. Both diamonds have their own uniqueness.. So it really depends on what she likes.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've scheduled another appointment with them this Saturday with my gf. Since this is once in a lifetime thing, I'd want it to be perfect.

You may be able to get around 0.4 to 0.6.
