Thanks! 0.5ct is gd enuff for me. I saw someone bought a 0.6 @ $8k so i thgt with a $4k budget can only get me a 0.3ct ring.

I bought online from James Allen

0.77 I VS2 EX-EX-EX HCA score 1.8-1.9 for less than 4100 (including GST)

Prices can vary greatly depending on the colour and clarity as well. :) You can check out vivodiamonds, bluenile, etc to get the rough guage. Just plug in your budget, and you can roughly see what you get. Do remember to factor in the ring cost as well as GST. The prices from Jann Paul are close to these ranges.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've scheduled another appointment with them this Saturday with my gf. Since this is once in a lifetime thing, I'd want it to be perfect.

If you are considering a squarish cut like Cushion Brellia, you could also look at the Solasfera Princess Cut too.

It is my turn finally ... after reading through 120 ++ pages!! I am excited over this and have started planning for my proposal :)

She came across this design before and mentioned to me she felt in love with it. I find it unique but not sure if the design will last long (or look elegant). Ideally, I want her to really wear it everyday for a long time (until i replace a bigger one during our 10th anniversary)

The design is something on JP's facebook page, album's name - JannPaul's Dedication II (With side diamonds). The last 3 pictures (same design). Can't post URL - sorry!~!

Do you guys think this design is nice and it will last long? Thanks!

The ring design should not be something that you or people like. More importantly, it is what she likes and it would suit her style & personality. :)

It can be around 0.4-0.5. You must first ask which Cs are important to you, and for each C, which is the lowest you can accept first. For instance, if it is a D IF, the diamond would be smaller. But if you want to get a 0.5, it may be lower in colour and clarity.

I believe only cash or credit card. I do not think that they tie up with credit card companies, so the only way to maximise your discounts is use what credit card companies offer. Some cards offer cashback for spending. You can make use of it.

1. cash payment will entitled to 2% discount of the total amount.
2. credit cards (dbs/uob)- no discount, just 12mths 0% interest fee
3. Standard Chartered Manhattan credit card - for every $400 (IIRR) 2% or more (cant recall) rebate back to you, you can do partial payment.

Please call them for more info... as i cant remember all. :)

Hello

Hi everyone,

went to JP last week and is extremely pleased with the service like everyone here.

the prices are reasonable and diamonds surely look better than those at T&Co, Love&Co, Bvlgari, Cartier. After shopping at most of the jewellery shop, we went back to JP to place our deposit.

received pix of the diamond today, not able to upload.. not sure why...

my htb and i do recommend JP! :s13:

Pictures of my 0.64 carat Solasfera. Damage: ~8k inclusive of ring setting.
Considering if i should change a diamond due to the needles on the characteristics.
Forgot to ask for best lowest price prior to putting my deposit. Anyone in the same situation with them before? :) Enjoy

Agreed - wanted to ensure she has something that is long lasting :)
She decided on another design today - looks like I am all set ... Can't wait to finally meet them and get the ring ready! I am excited!

hello everybody!

Just like everyone else here, I'm going to my next stage of life soon! Slowly planning on proposing to my girlfriend. =D

May I know roughly how long it takes from making an appointment with JP for a "crash course" on diamonds and rings, to finally getting the ring ready from them??

Thanks!

Just came back from JP and paid deposit for my engagement ring :) Really got excited and spent more than 3 hours there.

I confirmed the appointment last week and met David today. If you don't do customization (i.e. request for 3D design), they can get it ready within a month or so. If you need them to customize/show you design in 3D design - it takes up to 2-3 months. Hope it helps :)

How much will a spec around 0.5ct G VS2 solafera cost at JP? And is G & VS2 a ok combination?

Just giving you a rough estimate based on GoodOldGold pricing. Should be around 5k.

To most people, they cannot see the difference between a D IF and a G VS2 when mounted on a ring, unless you compare it side-by-side with a higher colour diamond. But, you will need to make sure that the inclusions are not in the bad areas.
