Brother, my ring is budget ring. Unlike our fellow members rhodium ring lah, titanium lah, asteroid material lah, diamond mine from MARS lah. Mine only $4k nia.

If overseas where sia, Pulau Ubin, Sentosa, Johor and Batam only. Sabah cannot go, got mini war.

I ain't sure, our first date was somewhere in Marina. I don't want it to be done in a restaurant. Want it at a place where it will not down the road be torn down. So 10-20 years down the road, we can walk by and remember that moment.

So L-omantic ah. LOL! Heck, if I got deep pockets, I whisk her away on my private jet to Eiffel Tower and propose. So my options are pretty limited. Anyway, as long as it is nice place where we can go back to and remember that moment. That's all.

question so short I answer so long ah. LOL. Answer is Singapore.

Can try Bali in Indonesia, or a nice beach in the Philippines or Vietnam.. I find them to be quite under-rated and it can still can be done up very nicely... But if you already have a special place in Singapore, might as well do it locally.. The extra $$ can use for house in the future :)

Ahaha nice, yeap totally understand what you're saying bro..

I guess if we all have deep pockets we all will have our proposal done up according our fantasies..

Anyway another bro here suggested Bali in Indonesia, or a nice beach in the Philippines or Vietnam, I think it can be quite feasible.
In my opinion Boracay island in Philippines is very beautiful, you may want to check it out, don't need to have deep deep pockets! :D
Beautiful beach, good food, nice people, pleasant atmosphere/environment..

Haha. Thanks for the idea guys but the thing is her dad has restrictions on his daughter. "No travelling overseas with a man. All man have one thing on his mind. So no." LOL

I must say if it's within means, I will choose Thailand. Years ago, I was at Chumpon and the beach, oooo lah lah man. Blue water. Snorkelling was excellent; jelly fish is not. Coming out from the ocean and running on the sandy white beach (doing a slow mo run like Pamela Anderson in Baywatch) and then running straight to the pub, a beer in hand...woah! I miss those days. That is the life man.

It'll be great but nah. Gonna keep it simple and be a bit creative in the proposal. Can share after proposal done nia. LOL.

And you're right, the extra $$$ can use for house renovation and stuffs. Better be thrifty. Once in a lifetime proposal thing, yes (maybe 2-3 in a lifetime for some)but it should be within means.

Hi Guys,

Browse through 20+ pages. Looks like nobody mention Vivo diamonds(Colleagues recommended me for custom rings). Any review on that?

My budget is 5k+, will be enough for 0.62 carat, E-F, VS1-2, triple excellent or very good?

Finding proposal rings is not as easy as i thought :s22:

JP is the most popular here. You should pay them a visit and see what spec you are able to get from them based on your 5k budget.

Since your colleague recommended Vivo, why not just pay them a visit as well so that you can compare the quality, price & service among the private jewellers.

Jp is definitely one of the the most reputable private jewellers in Singapore but there are some quite good as well. If you are looking for value for money deal, I would advise visiting as many as possible for comparison.

I always walk pass them only.. never tried selling my gold stuff to them before.
I think they should know more stuff than maxicash.. maxicash buys everything whereas goldsmith shops specializes in gold.. so you might be able to get more from them.. Good luck!!

What one of the member said is right. I often hear vivodiamonds or get recommendation from friends who say to check out vivodiamonds but the strange thing is, the friends who recommended online stores don't even buy from them.

I don't remember coming across any good detail reviews. Blue Nile maybe but the reviews were from the States.

As its a significant amount of money, I much prefer to see it in person.

Nothing against online stores; just my personal opinion. If your friends have recommended an online store, do ask if they themselves have personally purchase something from them.

I prefer to see the diamond in person together with the ASET analysis. Even the price is higher than online store but we can guaratee the quality in term of light performance.

Most of the diamonds in Vivodiamonds webiste listing are not their in-house stones. If i'm not mistaken they only have Vivo Signature Ideal in their inventory.

Bought a 0.45 F VS1 Brellia.. went down with my gf and she immediately liked the Brellia after seeing the diamond :) Saved me the hassle of deciding which diamond to choose.. hehe

Below are the pictures I received for my diamond.
Do they look ok? Any comments would be very much appreciated!

Wah, almost exact same specs as mine.

Except mine was D color and I paid 7k. Looks like I overpaid. :(

Hi,

I came across these 3 diamonds, could anyone advise if they are worth looking at? They cost about 6.6-7K with normal setting

1. 0.72cts VS2 G, 3 EX, table:56%, depth:61.5%, crown angle: 34.5, pavillion angle: 40.8

2. 0.84cts VS1 G, 3 EX, table:57%, depth:62.6%, crown angle: 35.0, pavillion angle: 41.0

3. 0.80cts VS2 G, 3 EX, table:57%, depth:60.9%, crown angle: 33.5, pavillion angle: 41.0

Did they provide you with the ASET scope to analyse the diamond?

(1) HCA 1.3

(2) HCA 2.5

(3) HCA 1.1

I'll pass number (2). The depth is over 62% which is too long and will make the diamond look smaller.

Still need to see the star facet and lower girdle length.
Anyway, you should still view the diamond with the ASET and H/A scopes.. All these numbers are meaningless without the scopes.

Thoughts please

Any idea if this specs is good? And how much is a fair price to pay for it?

0.76 cts VVS1 G, table:58%, depth:59%, crown angle: 34, pavillion angle: 43.5, depth: 60.7, star: 50, lower girdle:78, polish: very good, symmetry: excellent

Recs on where is a good place for setting?
